That Pizza Place - Carlsbad

We love “That Pizza Place”! From the food, customer service to the cleanliness of the restaurant I give it a 5 star. Only reason im rating it a 4 star is due to the time it take to get your food. We have been here multiple times and on average it takes 30-40 min when there less than 1-2 families in the restaurant. Even things such as appetizers or salads either take 30 min or it’s come out when the rest of the meal does. Overall great place just might need either more staffing or a better sends of urgency.

I tried ttp for the first time after work last evening having heard great things, and was very disappointed. Extremely poor customer service.
I ordered a pizza and salad to go, and had a seat right in front of the register. While waiting, a family came in and sat at a table.
I just assumed someone would call my name, or let me know my order was ready, but instead, I just noticed the 4 top was eating their pizza!! So I went to the counter and the young woman that took my order 40 min earlier was easy to take my order again, as if she's never taken my order. I said I ordered a pizza and salad to go, and she picked up a salad from behind her, and went to get my cold pizza, and when I got home it wasn't even the correct pizza. So, I spent $40+, and waited almost an hour, for mediocre pizza. Super disappointed.

We called over to bring our soccer team between games and it was awesome! The pizza was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been nicer!! A big thank you!

Great food and place to bring kids. We love coming here. Only downside is that on the weekends it can get crowded and food takes a while but worth it.

This is one of the best pizza places I’ve ever been in my entire life. The dough was perfectly cooked the pizza is really big. The service is nice. In nice neighborhood a lot of televisions. The outside tables are not too hot or too cold. The pizza is really good. Not too expensive. They cook the pizza in like 5 minutes. Everything about this pizza place is perfect. Perfect place for eating.

I tried to call in a pizza order on a Monday around 5 pm, but they didn’t answer their phone twice… so I tried using their online order system but it was convoluted so I had questions… so I gave up and ordered pizza from somewhere else. Their pizza may or may not be great but who cares if they make it too hard to order a darn pizza.

Lesson 101 in sales & marketing:
Learn how to take orders at scale, and make it so easy my 6 year old could do it. This is why so many people buy from chains, it’s simple and predictable.

We loved our meal at TPP. The crust is flavorful and such a nice mix between traditional crust and sourdough. The brookie hot cookie with ice cream is the perfect end to a TPP meal!

That Pizza Place was amazing when we visited. We were able to get seated very quickly and order right away. We ordered garlic cheese bread (very well prepared), wings, and pizza.

The wings were very, very good and perfectly prepared. We got garlic parm wings along with the mild buffalo. Our children are particular about wings and they both very much enjoyed them as well which speaks volumes about them.

The pizza we ordered was pepperoni and bacon, which also was perfectly prepared. It had the perfect amount of cheese along with pepperoni and bacon, so we definitely recommend trying the pizza when you go! We ordered a large which was too much with the other food for the 4 of us so the portions are very favorable as well.

The games themselves in the restaurant were well kept also and they all worked which was nice since we had to wait for food. It helped kill time and then kids enjoyed them!

Kid-friendliness: Arcade style games were nice and all of them worked.

Customers for over 45 years! New owners are nice & staff too!
This night kitchen got backed up with 2 hair pizza wait. We got 3 pizza, salad etc. All Pizzas were wrongly made and they sent out the wrong salad ?

OK SO an Awesome Pizza!! and I have worked in almost all big pizza chain as well as family owned. The pizza we had was not the thin or thick but mid. It has meats and viggies what makes it great is its full of items and its not skimpy. The meatballs are nice size and the crust was crunchy as well as hearty. The sauce was not over powering and blen in perfectly. The place was crowded. Comfy chairs could help. Staff seemed small as only one counter person. The bartender doubled as waiter. So yes there was a line to order. But again the pizza was great!!
