Was dying to try this place as I'm always looking for great pizza. All the reviews and people mentioning it on face book. We finally decided to try it on "pi" day! 3.14. We got the wings to start- those were tasty- mild buffalo (because in a wimp). And also got some cheese sticks- this is pretty much cheese pizza minus the sauce and cut into sticks- nothing too "wow" about them. They lacked flavor honestly. We got a pepperoni pizza, traditional delicious pizza what can go wrong? looks similar to round table pizza.. (which i do love honestly for a chain pizza place) but sad to say, it's just not as good. It was lacking flavor again! I the dough was missing something. I just don't know. Very saddened. The worst part of the evening wasn't the restaurants fault. But more the horrible parents that let their kids climb all over the seats next to us. (Booth side) banging on the tables, screaming and moving our chairs... granted we have a baby and we know she can be loud at times- but we take her outside, to not bother the other patrons... these kids were out of control. And the parents were wanting to talk amongst themselves instead of parenting. So that made our experience even worse. We get that it's an arcade kid friendly place, but this was over the top. Be prepared.

The pizza was delicious! I'm a new comer, and can confidently say I'll be returning. Original recipe since 1978, and same community values. It's a great environment with lots of fun pictures and trinkets that add to it all. Thankyou for everything

The whole family went to celebrate a birthday, and it was great! There is a familiar feeling to the place, but different and better! Lighter and more open. The front is opened up onto an outside eating area and it makes a huge difference! The food is even better than before! I thought I'd miss the salad bar until we got our salads. We got the house and the Caesar, and both were outstanding! Seriously delicious! The staff were welcoming and attentive. And rather than bringing a birthday cake, we got two family style desserts, one a cookie base and one a brownie. Topped with ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce! Wow! Excellent! Give the new That Pizza Place a try, bring the family. you won't be disappointed!

We came for a date night and left upset. It was not busy and order at the front with a young woman who was not happy to be there. No smile or greeting. We ordered a pizza and garlic bread and ended up waiting 30 minutes! When I finally asked when our food was going to come out. She asked what we ordered and our number with a straight face and no apology. She came back to say they had to refire it and it would be out in a minute. I sit back down and she comes with our food. The garlic bread was cold, and the pizza was luke warm for being refired. For waiting 30 minutes and everyone around us getting their food before us I was very upset and disappointed. My husband and I love pizza so much but we will not be coming back. The service was sad, no smiles, no greetings or apologies.

The food here is phenomenal. It comes out fast and hot. Everyone in the place is extremely friendly and the vibes are awesome. I was in SoCal for less than a week and came back here for a second time just to try other food from the menu (The deep dish pizza is the BEST I've ever had). If you're ever anywhere near Carlsbad, go here!
I ordered the lunch special for$12.50 . They have it from 11-3. It's a 6-inch pizza , side salad, and a drink. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. Highly recommend.

This was our first time back since the closure and we wanted it to be so good...but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The pizza was so so and the pepperoni didn't look fresh at all...so that was a bummer. The garlic bread was also underwhelming. We ordered a salad and for $12, it was a bit of a let down too. We really miss the old salad bar! Nostalgia-wise, it was great to be back. LOTS of smiling faces.

I use to love this place growing up as a kid. Sadly the pandemic closed it down. Then someone bought it and reopened it and it’s kind of meh inside to me I can see the appeal for other people though. The service is NOT that great. Last time I went in I stood at the counter for 10 minutes or more. It was busy inside but that’s still no excuse for waiting that long. I had arrived at the time I was told to pickup the pizza…Well of course on top of waiting 10 minutes they also told me they had just started making my order…That is just lousy service altogether no apology or anything. I have worked retail and I have worked in restaurants and trust me when I say very poor service and no accountability and the kids were a little rude. Basically someone snatched up the place kept the legendary name and made a meh business where customer service is low on the totem pole. Also, the prices are insane at this level for the customer service you get.

The new owners are doing a phenomenal job and I’m ecstatic to see this local gem staying open. Still the same amazing pizza and welcoming atmosphere with a slightly more modern interior. They kept some key touches, which really warmed my heart. I love that my family and friends can keep making the same fond memories here that I did 30+ years ago. Try the new loaded fries, they’re delish!
