The camp store is the best casual friendly place to get a beverage and the pizza in town, plus the sunsets are out of this world! Oh I almost forgot the killer live music Wednesday through Sunday! You will not be disappointed if you make the effort to come to The Camp Store!

Excellent gluten free pizza, but it’s small for the price. Decent selection of craft beers and ciders too. It’s a cool, laid back place to listen to some tunes and watch the waves. I saw a couple of dolphins too!

Kind of an unexpected experience... Cool vibes on the beach. Live music, at a camp store.
I’ve been going to the Camp Store since I was a kid, and I used to love it. Picking out a fun souvenir after a beach day was always a highlight. The place had a humble, beachy charm that felt connected to the camp. Since the pandemic, it’s really gone downhill. The awesome shave ice stand is gone, replaced by reheated pizza that somehow still takes 30 minutes. Not worth the wait or the price. The store used to be full of snacks, drinks, and fun camp-themed merch. Now it feels random. The shirts and hats are covered in Sasquatches and dinosaurs, which have nothing to do with Carlsbad Beach.
The staff is really kind and helpful, but the owner can occasionally come off as rude. It now feels more like a money grab, with live music events and more locals hanging out than actual campers. The hours are also confusing — the store doesn’t always open on time. One time I walked in 15 minutes after it was supposed to be open, and even though the doors were wide open, I was told to leave because they were actually still closed. It’s disappointing to see how far it’s drifted from what made it special

I have been coming to the camp store my whole life and when the camp store got rebuilt they got rid of some of my favorite things there are no good snacks, there is no parking, there is no candy that is good, and the worst of all you replaced the shave ice with crappy pizza and turned it in to a restaurant it’s supposed to be a store not a restaurant, also we are at the beach no one wants people from out of the camping spots to come to listen to music that is not good, I also believe that the store hours are stupid on Tuesday it opens at 3 and closes at 8 what is the point of it if you have barely any time to go to the camp store, the last thing you need to fix is the ugly clothes you have we want some good clothes not dinosaurs or Sasquatch this is the beach not some restaurant that’s fancy. I would not recommend going to this camp store unless they make it like the old one.going to the camp store here is a waste of your time
