I came here Sunday morning for a birthday brunch, and Samantha made us feel so welcome from the start. She was absolutely amazing! Her energy was warm and inviting, which really elevated the whole experience. She went above and beyond with her recommendations, and every suggestion she made was spot on. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in what she does. She made our visit to The Henry feel extra special, and we’ll definitely be coming back because of her. Samantha is fantastic!

This place is like the cheesecake factory with soo many different items on the menu, but with high prices and....the food not as good. I was hoping for a better cuisine experience but this place drastically falls short. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Very disappointing experience at The Henry in Carlsbad.
From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely poor and unprofessional. Several parties that arrived after us were seated before us without any explanation. We waited while watching multiple groups get priority over us, which was frustrating and disrespectful.
When we were finally acknowledged, the attitude from the staff was cold and dismissive. The entire experience made us feel unwelcome, and unfortunately the treatment we received felt discriminatory.
A restaurant’s atmosphere and food mean nothing if customers are treated with disrespect. There are many great places to eat in Carlsbad, and based on this experience, this is definitely not one I would recommend.
Very disappointing service and management.

Yummy brunch at The Henry at The Forum
In Carlsbad! Always a great vibe with beautiful indoor and dog friendly outdoor seating. We really enjoyed the seabass and harvest bowl with egg. Great cocktails as well, we had the Paloma and sangria. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Suggest making a reservation as it fills up quickly. Recommend!

Great food as always. I had the roasted chicken salad. My wife had the wagu burger. Both were excellent.

We had a delightful brunch at The Henry. The tuna chop salad was the star of the meal. It was fantastically bright, fresh, and crunchy with an addictive miso dressing. We also enjoyed some excellent cocktails, and the service was wonderful from start to finish. Highly recommended!

We went to The Henry during their Valentine’s Day prix menu and it was fantastic! The food was great (although the ahi tuna was a little too well done which is easy to do when you’re probably churning these out all night) and our server Kelsey was so sweet and took care of us. The appetizers and desert were our favorite. The ambience was cozy and there was plenty of parking available for such a busy day. We will definitely be back.

The Henry was referred to me from a friend. We decided to try the one in Carlsbad. Made reservations as it was suggested. Staff seemed friendly and inviting. All areas looked and had a clean feel to it. Food was a miss, started with parmesan truffle fries, old, luke warm and undersized. I ordered the huevos rancheros and my wife ordered the chicken avocado salad. My dish was sub par, overly salty canned red sauce and fake corn tortillas. Wifes salad, bland with four tiny pieces of chicken, each piece to be specific about 1 in x half in. Manager stopped by at almost every table outside and spoke to those guest. Not us, reoccuring trend for us. Lol. Anyway, here's the scores, sorry one and done visit. Cleanliness-7/10, Service 7/10, Atmosphere, 6.5/10, Staff 7/10, Food 2.5/10, Price 2.5/10. Overall 2.5/10.

Restaurantji Recommends
Place is very nice and service was good,
but food was awful. My harvest bowl looked like it was prepared a week ago and was so greasy! My husband’s smoked salmon bagel was very unappetizing served with bunch of fried potatoes. They should really improve their menu and maybe hire a chef that can deliver dishes sophisticated enough for the high end restaurant The Henry is supposed to be!!

Met some long-time, in-towners, & out-of-towner friends at Henry's for a lunch & catching up based on a friend's recommendation. The young staff were extremely pleasant, well-spoken, attentive, and sweet. They sat us down, noticed our excitement in getting together & gave us time (no rush in ordering), served us great, & were quite a pleasure! It was the 1st visit to Henry's for all of us & everyone loved it. Thank you, Henry ;).

Here’s my report on The Henry - thanks again Mary for the suggestion!
The Henry is in the Forum shopping center off El Camino Real. It’s been open for about 5 months and seems to be doing well. On a Thursday night, if you didn’t have a reservation, there was at least a 30 minute wait.
Inside tables book up faster (at least in winter) but the outside area is under a tent and has heaters. Tables aren’t too close together and the background music was pleasant and not too loud.
The servers are delightful and very attentive and we thought the food was good.
We ordered the brussels sprouts and potsticker appetizers, and the salmon and harvest bowl entrees. The brussels sprouts were too salty (from the cheese I think), and the potstickers didn’t live up to our waitress’ high praise, but the entrees were both very delicious.
