Most delicious! Highly recommend everything on the menu. The lobster is fresh and cooked just right. Flavorful, tender and juicy. We really enjoyed this spot.

My first visit and not my last! My lobster roll was absolutely delicious... the seating at the restaurant next to you was good. My friend enjoyed her tacos from that place park 101. But I'm happy with that lobster roll!!!

The lobster rolls are the best I've ever had. They are so good. It is a walk up order type of place. There is little to no seating, but the service is usually great.

My husband and I were in recently and Love this place! The cashier was super friendly and helpful. It was super busy and she was going above and beyond to help out. We love the food and will be back soon!

Waited 45 minutes for my food to get it cold. I'm beyond disappointed. We got 2 things that shouldn't have taken 45 minutes. And definitely shouldn't have been cold. Save your money.

Tuesday, 30January2023, was the first time I went to The Trap Shack - and met two friends. I had the Lobster OG and it was sooooo delicious. The coleslaw was wonderful, too, but it shocked me that it was so spicy. I ate it all, however. When I mentioned The Trap Shack to other friends/neighbors they didn't know about TTS and now they want to drive west and south to get there, too. Parking was a bit sketchy but I managed with a short walk and my friends found parking closer. Go figure. For me, good food is worth the drive around the block a couple of times and then parking wherever I can to make an acceptable walk for these old bones. I'll absolutely be back to The Trap Shack. BTW, one friend ordered tacos from the attached Park 101 and she enjoyed both tacos and fries! Park was accommodating with refilling my TTS soda. This elderly gal is most appreciative of both places! Thank you for having good food in both . . . I'll have to come by when there's less sun. ;-)

We used to come here when it was Wicked Maine Lobster, It was incredible. We would come to Carlsbad just to get lunch or dinner here. However, after what it has become, a sad excuse of the amazing seafood it used to be. I'm sorry to say we won't be coming back. This place was full of great memories that have dashed away and only left behind flavorless chewy seafood, shrunk portion sizes, microwaved cheese and a bad imitation of what the old menu was. This is truly saddening.

Food is not flavourful. Good location, not crazy crowded in the day time. But not really impressed with food .Kid-friendliness: No kids menu

Great food and you can sit inside Park 101 to eat and grab a drink! Would recommend. They have fast service and the staff is friendly. You should also check out the view on the top floor of Park 101 to make your lobster dinner that much better.

This used to be Wicked Maine Lobster, but apparently Park 101 took it over and renamed it. Also changed what was a fabulous menu and messed it up. We go here every time we visit our daughter, and it had become my standard for Fried Shrimp. Not many places could live up to those shrimp, they were so crispy and delicious. Not any more! The (different) breading mostly fell off, and there was different spice that didn't work. Only the fries saved the lunch. My husband who is from New England, always orders the Lobster Roll, but this time it was topped with a pile of Old Bay, which ruined the lobster flavor. So disappointing! Will have to stick with the Park 101 menu next time.

We have been eating at this place when we visiting Carlsbad for years and apparently they have no owners. A few things on the menu changed. I was a little Leary and I should have went with my in stinks, the food sucked ! This place isn’t the same at all the lobster Queso fries sucked! The cheese was hard. Will never eat her again2 lobster rolls and 1 queso fries 90.20 with tip. Very disappointing. Never eat here again !

I'd give this place a 3.9/4 stars- the only negative feedback I really have is the cost of the food and the portion size. Food overall tasted pretty good! The OG sandwich had a good amount of lobster, it could've been flavored a little better for me. The fries were really good- the breaded kind is my favorite. The place itself was in a cute portion of the village/ you order and pay for your food, then can sit in Park 101. It's right in downtown Carlsbad so you will need to find parking elsewhere and walk over. Service was decently fast for a Saturday night! Overall, the place is a solid choice if you're craving lobster sandwiches.

Don't be fooled by the photos of the food on this yelp listing or at the restaurant. It's definitely a trap! Looks like Park 101 has taken over Maine Lobster now called The Trap Shack. Ordered over $40 worth of food and got two chowder bowls only 1/4 full and three tiny pieces of fish. Totally unacceptable and a ripoff. Ruined a great spot / menu.

The lobster rolls just weren’t that good. The seasoned fries were really good though.
