Very little lobster for the price, we won’t be going back. I’d rather go to a sit down lobster meal and oay the price for a good meal. It did not taste very good, more like a cream based with a few pieces of tiny lobster.

We went on a Wednesday which a good time to go without being rushed by a crowd. The food was excellent and we will definitely returning!Parking: We were able to park on the street, but it was a weekday so it wasn't busy.

Meh. Very mid. Not a lot of food for the price. (Lobster fries were ok barely had cheese or lobster) and lobster roll was again just ok.

Lobster roll and salad was amazing. I'd skip the fish and tater tots. Anything fried tastes like the oil hasn't been changed in ages. Also the fried fish tastes fishy, which is likely a sign that it's old.

This place used to be Wicked Main Lobster and had excellent lobster rolls. Would visit every time I was in town. Now it’s rebranded as “The Trap Shack”(look and you’ll see it on the map) and the quality has suffered. The lobster on the “OG” is less buttery and overcooked. They offer other menu items but tater tots instead or fries, no Taco Tuesday and other downgrades. Still very fun atmosphere but a disappointment in terms of taste of the previous place’s signature item.

Lobster rolls are lacking, a lot of bread and very little lobster. Given the price, the should have more lobster. Had to go ask for our food after a long wait. It was cooked and waiting, kid at counter never buzzed us.

They changed owners and names. As a result some menu items are different or removed and prices have been increased. Sad. But the food is still really good.
Fun venue that's shares it's dining space with a bar and a few other restaurants. This location is now called "The Trap Shack" instead of "Wicked Main Lobster". We tried a few items..."The Maine Roll" won out for flavor against their "The OG" in a battle of the lobster rolls according to two in our group. They also mentioned it was probably the best they've ever had. The "CBAD Lobster Tacos" were good – definitely needed a hit of freshly squeezed lemon juice. We also snagged some perfectly cooked tater tots. Absolutely worth checking out.Parking: Had to find parking a few blocks behind the restaurant.

Amazing! We ordered almost one of everything! The shrimp plate was off the charts good as was the 50/50 plate with Fish and shrimp! Great quality and well seasoned. The French fries and coleslaw were very tasty as well. We also had the Lobster Mac and Cheese another amazing dish! But the star of this establishment is the Tarter Sauce! Homemade and just yummy! We will be back. Well worth the price!

Passed by this place on Thursday and decided to give it a try on Friday. They've changed names to the Lobster Trap and there are items they no longer have on their menu (French fries, pineapple slaw) We ordered 3 Maine rolls and 1 with butter and garlic along with a fish and chips. The fish didn't look appetizing, but was told it was good. They don't have fries but they have tater tots which were fried to perfection. The Maine lobster rolls were delicious along with the butter & garlic.. We also ordered the corn and crawfish chowder which we could have passed on. Also the cole slaw that came with our rolls was just shredded cabbage, I think they forgot to dress it. The service was good. You order from the window and get a buzzer when it's done. It takes a while, but they make things fresh. Most likely will go back on my next visit to Carlsbad.

Totally disappointed in the food and service. Actually it wasn't even the wicked main lobster place after all somewhere along the line they sold it . We drove all that way for nothing. It was so bad we won't even be going to the actual wicked main lobster place ever. Forget about finding a parking spot.

PSA THEY CHANGED TO “THE TRAP SHACK” Not very good food. For the insane price. I got there 2 most popular items, lobster roll OG and loaded queso tots. Total was $52.00? Small portions and you don’t get drinks with either “meal” super disappointing.
Fun place. Recommend checking it out.
