Chose this place randomly as it was close to highway 1. Food was very much like my wife's Chinese Mom's cooking! Not too much sauces to mask or add flavor to the main ingredients. You'll get the true taste of the food. Not great tasting place as other chinese that add too much sauces and MSG or additives. All these additives make you feel you are eating the best chinese food. Healthy eats here with China Delight!. I'm fairly certain that not much is added in the cooking besides the meat and/or vegetables. Meaning you'll get Good Tasting Chinese dishes without all the additives especially MSG. I didnt ask the server but i'm fairly certain they don't add MSG because I always get thirsty after eating MSG chinese food. If a restaurant adds too much MSG I always get a dull headache. I don't know the history of this restaurant but I hope they'll still be there on our next trip to Carmel for some good tasting and good for you Chinese food!

this place is terrible. The food is not good at all. The service was terrible and they ignore you when you ask them to come over even to ask for a simple glass of water. I will not recommend them. She barely had two tables, and she said that she was busy and that's why she couldn't help us really?!

We placed a large order here for New Year's Day. The staff seemed a little frazzled but the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time (about 40 minutes) and was hot and delicious. Everyone enjoyed it. The beef with pea pods was especially good, as was the schechuan shrimp and the tasty sweet and sour pork. The tofu dish was a bit disappointing as the tofu was too big and didn't absorb the sauce. The portions were very generous and we enjoyed the included fortune cookies. A very positive experience for our group!

We stumbled upon China Delight and were pleasantly surprised at the great meal we had. We ordered the sauteed green beans, half duck, fried rice and cashew chicken. Everything was quite good and the green beans and duck were especially good. My dad said they were the best green beans he has ever had (he is still talking about them). Friendly service and overall a good night of getting Chinese food with family.

We are chinese tourists and always craving for Chinese food when we travel in the U.S. My husband and I have been traveling in California for three days. This is the best meal we have had so far! The ambience is pleasing, service is good, they even offered a sour spicy soup as appetizer which is really refreshing and tastes good. We ordered salted green beans, beef with green onion, chicken chow men which all tastes good and the price is reasonable. I will recommend everyone who had a chance to come here!
My husband & I had a wonderful dinner @ China Delight restaurant. The restaurant decor is well appointed, the food was delicious & the service was exceptional. Food portions are generous & affordably priced. We will definitely visit again next time we are in town.

This is our fourth time here and whenever we are in Carmel, we make sure to stop by. Aside from the food being budget friendly, it is also good. I mean you'd say, you can never go wrong with Chinese food, TRUE but I factor in the friendly service, clean environment. Now add to this a good story - in December 2021 we had a vacation in Carmel along with some friends and like always we stopped by to grab some YUMMY dinner. Perhaps, because it was almost the festive Christmas season and we were all agog with going around and shopping, I was tired and oblivious that my wallet slipped between the chairs. I only found out that I was missing a wallet late part of the night. I tried to retrace my step and realized that the last time I used my wallet was during dinner in this resto. Next day, very early in the morning, even before their opening we went to thw resto and VOILA, the resto operators were already waiting for me and even went to the lengths of calling some numbers to find me. Ahhh, I am just so relieved. Very honest and lovely people. Not only GOOD FOOD AND HONEST BUSINESS OWNERS! Truly 5 stars
