He made our visit feel personal, engaging with us in such a warm and inviting way. Outstanding service, wine quality, and atmosphere. We came back three times during a four-day trip, for what it’s worth after lucking into it on the first night (that’s every day). It was amazing, kind staff, and great wine. We joined the membership and will assuredly be back!

Jeff Meacham (De Tierra owner) knows how to make wonderful wine using sustainable practices, and he also knows superior hospitality. We met Jeff when searching for a Carmel location to hold a welcome event for our daughter’s wedding. We needed a space that could accommodate 130 people and unfortunately De Tierra can only hold about 60 people. Rather than just telling us sorry, Jeff found another local restaurant, Mission Bistro, to co-host the larger event. Together they brought great wine and food, and our entire party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Prior to the event, Jeff hosted my wife for a wine tasting where he was able to curate a wonderful selection of wines including the “Coco” Rescue Blend, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and a sparkling Brut. Each of the wines were amazing and we have gotten great reviews from all of our guests. If you are visiting Carmel it is well worth stopping by De Tierra’s tasting room and try it for yourself. We had the BEST time celebrating my mother’s birthday at De Tierra this weekend. Jeff was super accommodating and helpful in setting up a reservation of tastings for our large group (16 people). The wines were delicious and the atmosphere was great! The late harvest Riesling is a must try, so good! Thank you to Jeff, Drew, and Daverle for helping us give my mom the best birthday experience. My wife and I visited De Tierra’s tasting room today. It was the best experience of all the vineyards and tasting rooms we have been to. The owner was there and treated us so well. He answered all of our questions and educated us as well. The Highland Pinot was our favorite. The tasting flight was a nice sampling. We had a great time! Left with a couple bottles and a good memory. Go here!!!

So happy my family and I decided to check this winery out! The experience was so enjoyable; between the wine and the staff it was exactly the atmosphere we were looking for. We even had the opportunity to speak with the owner for part of our visit. Highly recommend going here during your trip to Carmel by the Sea.

Best Pinot Noir I’ve tried. 25USD for an amazing 5 wine tasting. They have one wine that raises founds for dogs which is cute and the wine is also delicious. The owner comes and talks you through the wine and history of the vineyards. They have many California Awards in different wines.
We ended up buying a bottle of Santa Lucia Highlands which was my favorite. Highly recommended!! I can’t wait to come back.

Spontaneously stopped in Carmel during our hours long roadtrip to buy a bottle of any red wine. This was the 1st Winery/Wine Tasting room I saw on the map. I’m glad we stopped. My mother bought 2 bottles of their red wines, a Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, I believe. Since my brother and I were not drinking that day, we were fixated on finding a good place to eat. The kind lady at De Tierra provided me and my brother with several restaurants recommendations. She was gracious in helping us figure out what to type of cuisine we were craving and gave Her recommendations for each. The Italian/French restaurants she recommended did NOT disappoint! Since we parked in front of her wine tasting room and passed it on our way back, she stopped us before we could let her know that we LOVED her recommendation and were grateful that she took the time to share this with us. Thank you Ma’am for taking the time to speak with us.

Had a cousin day trip down to Carmel and stopped here for some wine. Very cool experience how they serve your wine in the vials. We also got a charcuterie to share and it was all good.
