I think the ambiance was amazing and the staff was sweet during the tasting. I really enjoyed the Riesling wine.

Nice atmosphere--a guitarist came in to play music which was't too loud despite the small space and added to a pleasant ambience. Everyone in my group ordered the flight, which came in test tubes. Overall it felt like a good deal compared to other wineries we visited that day in terms of volume, and each of the wines tasted great. The tasting descriptions were specific and accurate so that you could practice pinpointing flavors on your palette.

Had the pleasure of visiting De Tierra this past weekend. We didn't know what to expect as we walked in and it was empty (learned later that it had opened about two minutes before arriving). We sat at a table by the window and were soon welcomed by our host/wine server, Daverly. She was warm and enthusiastic and welcomed us with a lovely glass of sparkling wine - which was delightful. We followed up with a tasting flight and were delighted with the fun presentation. Before we knew it, every table and seat at the bar was filled and the atmosphere was vibrant. Daverley never got rattled - just went from group to group with great little tidbits and pieces of information. She offered great insight and personalized our experience in such a perfect way. We ended up with several glasses, a few bottles and incredible memories. Already cannot wait to return. Thank you De Tierra and THANK YOU Daverley!

Was recommended to stop by here by another tasting room, Talbott Vineyards, when they didn't have any Bordeaux-style blends.The wines here were fabulous, I personally really enjoyed both the Petite Sirah and their late harvest riesling. My wife enjoyed the whites and dessert wine as well.The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We look forward to trying their restaurant recommendations.

My friend and I made reservations & were so excited to try this tasting room after I read many good reviews. But we received very little welcome as we sat at counter. We were poured our tasting flights and served those. But had very little ,if any,interactions from our sommelier,unless I asked questions to learn of their wines! Man was distracted with many things and we were left to ourselves. I had gone with the intention of maybe joining their wine club and to attend their upcoming succulent class, but that's off now! If you want nice wines but not much in the way of personal attention you might like it here!

I'm sharing our great experience especially for those who plan to bring friends who don't drink alcohol for any number of reasons. We received a gift card for this winery but do not drink. The host was incredibly gracious and in no way made us feel uncomfortable or odd that we don't drink. This is huge and uncommon. Really recommend this place for mixed crowds of people who drink and don't drink.
John our tasting room pourer was a great salesman. He believes in the product and it showed. We ended up buying a few bottles. The reviews on yelp were consistent and we decided to check it out as we try to visit a variety of wineries throughout California. De Tierra did not disappoint. Favorite was the Pinot Gris (and my husband does not like whites and he loves this one ) the Cab Franc, and the Merlot. Overall great experience. We are from the Lodi appellation and we will definitely be back to partake in more!

Really enjoyed this spot during my visit to Carmel! I had been looking through many different places to choose from for wine tastings and I’m glad I went with this option. Reasonably priced and friendly/knowledgeable staff, he was able to answer all of our questions and help us make the right choice for a bottle we were looking to purchase. Would love to come back if I’m in Carmel again! The only disappointment was that we wanted to get the charcuterie board but it wasn’t available when we were there, though the gentleman offered an alternative to us where food is delivered from a restaurant across the street from the menu of appetizers (my memory is a bit foggy as my visit was in December, so I may have explained this part incorrectly). However it wasn’t that big of a deal! Would’ve just been a plus.All in all, highly recommend !

We had a great experience at De Tierra. We did a wine tasting and got a couple of glasses too. All of it was so good! Daverle helped us and she was as sweet as can be! Absolutely loved her. We will be back!

After having such a fun time with the workers and people at the bar at the prior two wine tastings I did before coming to De Tierra, I was a bit disappointed with the vibe here (and didn't like the wine quite as much either).That being said - I did get here towards the end of the business hours with only about 1 1/2 hours left, and they had live music playing which ended 5 minutes after I arrived.I love all the little tasting rooms in Carmel, and it could've definitely been a better experience in other circumstances!
