Edgar's at Quail Lodge

I wasn’t able to call and address this directly, so here’s my experience. I ordered the Farmers Market Salad with chicken and a water, while my husband got a flatbread pizza. Unfortunately, the meal left much to be desired:
1. The salad was missing the chicken I paid extra for, and it was completely drenched in balsamic dressing—with two extra containers of balsamic on the side. 2. It had GOAT CHEESE, which I absolutely hate!. I wouldn’t have ordered the salad if the menu had listed goat cheese as an ingredient. Because of this, I could only eat about a quarter of it, as the cheese had touched everything. 3. The water tasted like it came straight from an unfiltered tap—undrinkable.
4.The flatbread pizza was served cold, though it did taste decent. 5. No utensils to eat salad. No napkins 6. For all this, we paid $50.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience for the price. Better menu transparency and attention to detail could have made a big difference.

So hope for better food. Carnitas tacos were filling but dry and lacking flavor. The grain bowl used to be better. No fish option on the menu which is both surprising and disappointing. I expect more from a Peninsula Group property unless this is on a different tier.

Such a beautiful resort tucked in the mountains with a beautiful view. Very clean and well maintained. Room was beautiful overlooking the grounds and mountains in the background. The staff from (Erin) at the front desk to the waitstaff were all very friendly and helpful. The lodge is awesome and has a warm welcoming feeling. We would HIGHLY recommend staying at The Quail!

Went for lunch today, and it was really nice as usual. We've eaten here many times over the years. We sat outside and the weather was really nice.
The service was excellent and the food was very good. We had the Prosciutto and arugula flatbread and the roasted chicken club with salad. From where we sat, you could see the driving range and putting green.

Nice place

While staying an evening at Quail Lodge we decided to have lunch at Edgar's before leaving the Carmel area. ATMOSPHERE: Clubhouse restaurant. Indoor or outdoor seating available at driving range. FOOD: Tasty. Especially the "Lady Betty's Coronation Chicken Salad". PRICE: Not cheap but expected for location and portion size. SERVICE: Quick, friendly and attentive. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. It is convenient for those golfing at Quail Golf Club or those staying at Quail Lodge.

Food was great, the service was professional and polite, the atmosphere inviting.

Great place for a nice evening

Lucky they received a 1 rating and that's only due to outside dining on a beautiful day. Lunch with 6 friends and 3 of us ordered the Market Salad....consisted of about $2.00 worth of lettuce, sliced apple, maybe half a strip of chopped bacon and dressing....cost $16. Asked some bread or rolls.....didn't have any! Croutons....nope! I've had better salads from Safeway! We are locals who have gone hetefor years but don't plan on going back again.

Splendid

Great location. So close to Carmel restaurants/shops and Carmel Valley wineries. Love the scenic Quail Resort golf course. Resort is on 14th fairway.

Excellent experience! Beautiful property and great customer service. Highly recommend!
