Both food and service were excellent. They had a nice variety of sandwiches, salads, and main dishes for both take-out and dining in their attractive space at the Quail Lodge clubhouse. The outside dining was very nice when the weather was appropriate.

While staying an evening at Quail Lodge we decided to have lunch at Edgar's before leaving the Carmel area. ATMOSPHERE: Clubhouse restaurant. Indoor or outdoor seating available at driving range. FOOD: Tasty. Especially the "Lady Betty's Coronation Chicken Salad". PRICE: Not cheap but expected for location and portion size. SERVICE: Quick, friendly and attentive. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. It is convenient for those golfing at Quail Golf Club or those staying at Quail Lodge.

During our stay at the Quail Lodge and Golf Club, we had a wonderful dinner one night at Edgar's! We enjoyed outdoor seating with our dog, and a beautiful view. Bread and Butter - The bread came out SO hot and fresh, and the butter with chives was amazing. This was definitely a highlight!! Clam Chowder - I love clam chowder and order it almost every time it's on a menu. This included Yukon gold potatoes and smoked bacon. Classic Caesar Salad - Romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan, and Caesar dressing. A nice, refreshing classic, and great way to start off the meal! Grilled Rib Eye - Came with green beans almandine, mashed potato, and Au Poivre sauce. This was delicious and I especially loved it with the sauce! Sorbet Trio - The three flavors were Prickly Pear, Mango, and Guava. It was presented beautifully and was perfect for summer. I loved all three flavors! Loved this meal and experienced wonderful service. Hope to visit again!

We also had reservations for Mother's Day Brunch. Ditto on Gabrielle N's review, same day. Food was good but not worth the unorganized, unprofessional visit. The waiter was assured his tip on the tag so guess it didn't matter. Total of over four hour there, why? From the get go it was sit and wait for hours with no apologizes. The manager walked in to see us all still waiting with with our small children who we're hungry but he didn't bother speaking to us. Recommend to them not advertising the brunch for special occasions if you don't have the staff or capacity to handle reservations. If I would have been there with a few guest I would have left but since it was a large party, we waited.

Place was cute and right off the practice lawn so location was prime. Service was good and good came out quickly. I got the quinoa bowl with egg rich was tasty. The other ladies I was with had a chicken and rice dish that they raves about.

Great place for a nice evening

Lucky they received a 1 rating and that's only due to outside dining on a beautiful day. Lunch with 6 friends and 3 of us ordered the Market Salad....consisted of about $2.00 worth of lettuce, sliced apple, maybe half a strip of chopped bacon and dressing....cost $16. Asked some bread or rolls.....didn't have any! Croutons....nope! I've had better salads from Safeway! We are locals who have gone hetefor years but don't plan on going back again.

First I suggest Yelp removes the outdated post on this site. Edgar's is no longer open for dinner. Lunch only. I recently went there with five friends for our monthly girls lunch date, and was so disappointed. Service was mediocre and all new people. We asked for bread and were told we could only get toast?! Salads were ok, but the French fries unrecognizable! These were amazing only three weeks before. Seems like the staff, including the chef, is being moved around and no one knows what they're doing. Hope they get it together soon. Such a beautiful spot.

Great location. So close to Carmel restaurants/shops and Carmel Valley wineries. Love the scenic Quail Resort golf course. Resort is on 14th fairway.

Fancy setting in nice area, but drink orders for our table of four took three tries, and the lunch food was nothing special. We are not golfers, and so the food was more important.

Location can't be beat for lunch in Carmel Vally. Lovely patio area next to driving range. Service excellent. Salads were very fresh and chicken avo bacon sandwich good. Great local wine selection. Unfortunately, the fish tacos (we had 2 who ordered them in our group) were not well liked.. The menu says the fish is marinated but we found it tasteless and the corn soft taco fell apart if you tried to pick it up. The fish is weirdly fried to point of being semi crispy burnt and gelatinous. Skip the $5 bar food sides as well. The chips appeared to be white flour not corn & were greasy, the salsa not very good and the giant pretzel forgettable. Not many food selections for vegetarians or vegans.

Edgar's just lost a customer. We prdered the Thanksgiving meal for 4-6 people to go from Edgar's at Quail and prepaid $175 plus 18% tip (why such a tip on take out?). When my husband got home with the food, we discovered they had failed to include "the artisan bread". Just then our guests arrived so I did not want to send my husband back for bread and was not sure it would be there. Tried to call the restaurant but they don't answer, just goes to voicemail. But finally I did leave a message. The next day I tried again but again no one answers. I got an email from Edgar's asking how our meal was but it was 'no reply' they just wanted us to put something on Facebook or Twitter. I then sent an email to them, but more than 2 days later still no reply. I know bread is not a big deal, but it was an expensive meal and I think they owe us an apology if not a credit for the bread. Pretty disappointing customer service. Apparently they can afford to lose customers, and recommendations.
