Amazing food. We tried the pasta plate, and the shrimp curry soup, and the aha tuna. Everything was perfect. The customer service was amazing. They are very friendly and welcoming.
Went for date night and split 3 apps and a stone pot with seafood and veggies. Ordered the pan fried oysters which were unfortunately not my favorite item because I found them to be a bit bland. We also ordered the shrimp tempura with veggies which was delicious. The last app was the coconut curry soup (not pictured) which was my favorite of the 3 apps. It was slightly spicy and very tasty. The stone pot was delicious and we ate the whole thing. The clams and mussels were just a bit overcooked. Service was very good.
Cannot believe I didn't review this amazing restaurant yet! Everyone loved their food but what was most amazing was the service and how dog friendly this restaurant was. Our very well behaved newly adopted mini poodle loved our server Ramsay. I'll take a photo next time of her sitting at the table.
Standouts are the chips and salsa, scallops,
and the tower. Worth every penny and will very happily visit this amazing establishment again.
Good atmosphere and great service.
We were in town for the marathon and dined at this cozy spot. Everything was great from the service to the delicious meal. Would highly recommend!
Abalone was fantastic
Excellent food, fish was amazing
Disappointment. Food was meh at best. Two of us had Scallops Gulf &Prawns ($33) and agreed it was terrible. The 2 small prawns were so tough, like leather! While it was supposed to have spicy curry cream sauce over fettuccine, it was bland like they forgot to add curry spices and salt. I’m not even a big salt fan, but it was tasteless. The 2 scallops were good. My husband ordered the Almond Seabass ($44). It was served over instant (most likely)mashed potatoes with a couple of cabbage pieces. It was okay, just nothing you should pay for. Our fourth companion had the Alaskan Black Cod over arugula. She substituted vegetables for the starch. It was a delicious dish with a pleasantly surprising amount of tasty vegetables. It was seasoned and cooked well. Unfortunately, one good dish out of four means I can only give the place 2 stars. The setting looks like the old wooden benches and tables of days past. The bathrooms are pretty yucky. I’ll leave it there. The host was an amazingly chipper and kind man, the guy who pours water was very friendly and attentive, but the waitress looked a little over-worked and unhappy. Flat. Maybe they need to pay her more so she can cut back 1 day of work. The other people were great, though. The ginger salsa was delicious! We parked in a parking garage a few doors down from the restaurant for $15 for 1 1/2 hours. All told, it’s just a 2 star rating and nothing you want to remember.

We love this place when we’re in carmel! The chips and Ahi pasta are the best. The service is always amazing and every waiter/host makes you feel right at home. The decor is unique and homey. Highly recommend for a visit!

Absolutely excellent. I live in Santa Barbara and this place is absolutely amazing and nicely priced too. Perfect casual atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back.

I don't mind paying an exorbitant amount if the food tastes great. Was disappointed with their food prep and presentation.

Food is original with Asian flare...my salmon was covered in sesame seeds and baked...very moist ..with lime cream sauce...added lots of interest and tang...not overwhelming...they have farmed abalone ..best I have eaten in years...a rare treat

We had a delicious salmon dinner on Thanksgiving weekend 2024. The owner, Honza, was an excellent host and quite entertaining. Our waiter, Tony, was very attentive and provided excellent service. If you are looking for a delicious fish dinner in Carmel , with excellent service and great ambiance, I highly recommend the Flying Fish Grill!

We honestly went to flying fish in Carmel because of the owners responses to the bad reviews. Service right off the bad was the best ever. On to the food and drinks did disappoint. We weren’t sure which wine so they actually brought some tastes to help us. Amazing service, amazing food, clean, great feel, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. We will be back soon
