Drove from a distance to be told that they were only seating members due to staff shortage. Better call ahead, even if arriving during operating hours. Disappointing!
As a solo guest I had a wonderful time! The vineyard is beautiful with beautiful landscaping. I did not go on the tour, but I was able to enjoy the flatbread pizza and reserve wine flight. The pizza was delicious! It's definitely a mist try. I had the BBQ chicken. Lots of flavor, the crust cooked to perfection and the fresh cilantro was a great finishing touch. The flights were great! Such a big pour for the flights, I honestly couldn't finish it😅. Excellent customer service! The ladies were accommodating, I needed lots of sun. There is an outdoor veranda that's nicely shaded and several umbrellas. I really enjoyed the live music, food and relaxing!
A very special winery offering a delicious selection of wines to try. We also enjoyed the warm artichoke dip with sourdough toast. They have a big parking lot and are dog friendly. Be sure to bring a jacket if dining outside.
Excellent winey, delicious wines testing, and you can eat and taste lots of locally made artisanal food. Really recomended and also is near to carmel
Nice outdoor dining place
incredible. went here with 10 girls for a bachelorette and Josiah and Daniel were SO attentive and kind. INCREDIBLE service, and the food was so tasty!! Need to go back asap!
We loved the ambience and food here! The clam chowder was a stand out dish and the wine was delicious. Our wine expert was knowledgeable and helpful with local recommendations.
I will begin by commending the food and wine. The wine was great and the food was even better, specifically the sweet heat pizza. The honey drizzle really makes the pizza. However, the service was abysmal. Shortly after being seated and ordering, our waiter clocked out. No one ever took over for him. I don’t know if there was a total lapse in communication or if someone was supposed to take over his remaining tables, but we sat there for over an hour without a single person coming by. We ordered a bottle of wine which was placed on the table and left. I have never been to a winery, or any restaurant for that matter, where they do not pour the first glass for you. To make the experience all the more unenjoyable, the waiter Amir, who was tending to the next table over, spent more time flirting with the two women sitting there than anything. It was so bizarre!!! And extremely unprofessional. A family at another table had to walk over to Amir and his ladies to ask for his check since they had been sitting there for at least an hour without service as well. He then proceeded to attempt to airdrop his contact info to one of the women. He also disappeared walking them over to the live music area and never returned? We flagged down another waitress for the check and explained we had not been served in over an hour and she did confirm Amir was supposed to take over after our waiter clocked out. I guess we weren’t his type! The manager did come over to apologize and gave us a complimentary bottle which was thoughtful. Unfortunately, this experience was so bizarre and there are too many other great wineries nearby to come here again. Perhaps take-out only from now on😂
We have previously visited Folktale winery a few times over the last few years and have always had a great experience with excellent food. This time was very different. We arrived with a small child and instead of seating us at a proper table (of which there were many available) they seated us at the fire pit (despite our mild objections, they insisted this was the only option) which is not the right configuration for a sit down dinner with a little one. Service was slow, we waited more than 15 minutes to finally be greeted by our server. The food however was the worst part of our experience. The food was entirely uninspired, and it seemed like they sourced low quality ingredients from Safeway down the street. The lettuce in the beet salad was practically yellow and the beets were tiny and sparse. The salad had clearly been sitting for an extended period of time. The pizza is totally different from a few years ago. Low quality sauce, random sliced grape tomatoes on a poorly executed margherita pizza? Every single thing we ordered was disappointing, not justified by the price and overall amateur-ish. We will not be returning which is a shame because the venue is nice.
Hit or miss depending on your server! We’ve been members off and on for the past 4 years now. There’s been almost a 100% rate of staff turnover.
Daniel, the sommelier is incredibly personable. He gives us great service every time, we visit about once or twice a week, even if he’s not our designated server.
Other notable staff are Nick and Pedro. Both are super friendly and genuinely enjoy interacting with customers. We’ve also met Bernie who’s super nice as well.
We’ve had two less than ideal visits. One server I can’t remember and Amir. I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s not great at his job, but we had to rope in two other servers to cover his lack of attention to our table. He also didn’t seem to know the wines very well and was reading off of the print out.

It's such a majestic place. So beautiful!! Could not have asked for a more beautiful day in such a quaint spot. We did the flight and cheese charcuterie plate. So tasty and delicious. It's definitely a place to check out
Andy was truly amazing. He made our tasting experience so memorable. We brought our family to taste here and he tailored everything to our preferences and gave us such good recommendations. Such a unique winery with beautiful bottles and scenery. Everyone is so kind and helpful. We are so excited to come back and ask for Andy again! So glad I joined the wine club. Thank you Andy! 🍷🍷
Cannot rave enough about Nick and this wonderful place. The food was delicious, the wine(s) were incredible and Nick was an absolute gem! He truly made our first time here a core memory. Can’t wait to make this a yearly stop when we visit home.
Food and scenery is just perfect. Had their wine tasting menu and that got us tipsy for sure. Pizzas and salad were really good as well.
The service was not great.
