What an amazing place We were gonna just stop and grab a bottle to go to take to a friend's and we ended up sitting having a nice glass, enjoying the scenery. Thank you for this experience.

Great location with fantastic wine and food to back it up.

The service here fell short of expectations, and I think management needs to take a closer look at how the front of house is being run. We arrived without a reservation and were told to come back later. However, I checked online and saw a reservation available for just one hour later, yet the hostess insisted the next opening would be two hours later. This discrepancy suggested either poor communication or a lack of flexibility in accommodating guests.

The winery was a bit understaffed, but there were still plenty of empty tables. It would have been reasonable to at least allow us to purchase a bottle and sit while waiting, but no options were offered. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily rigid, even dismissive. This isn’t what you expect from a winery experience where hospitality should be a priority.

The wine itself may be good, but the disconnection between management, customer service, and the hostess left a negative impression. A more guest-focused approach could easily turn situations like this into positive experiences, rather than driving visitors away.

We had the most wonderful evening at folktale, the food and wine were delicious and service from Maudi and nick were second to none. They looked after us so well and their knowledge and recommendations were spot on everytime! If you’re in the area this winery is a must! We will be back 🙌🏻

We had such a wonderful experience at Folktale Winery and Vineyards in Carmel! The property is absolutely beautiful Gorgeous gardens and views make the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of wine tasting. Every pour was delicious and showcased the care that goes into their organic wines. The Pinot Noir and sparkling Rose were standouts! We will be back for sure!

The dining area is beautiful. They also hold events which is also set in a picturesque area.

We had a fantastic experience, thanks in large part to Nick. He was an exceptional host — warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about wines. His recommendations were spot-on. Nick created such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that made the evening feel truly special. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough great things about Folktale! The tasting room is a super nice place to relax, the food is wonderful, the servers are great, and it's very dog friendly! I consider myself a bit of a wine snob and can honestly say I LOVE all Folktale wines- we are proud members of the wine club. My husband and I also had the perfect experience of having our wedding here, we were married on the Rose Vineyard, and had our reception at the Vineyard House. It was an absolutely beautiful place, everyone had a great time, and the food was great! Couldn't have picked a better spot.

Two layer review, one for a regular visit and one for providing the drinks for our wedding (5 stars for both!). Visiting Folktale is wonderful. It's a beautiful location, flatbreads are delicious, and wine is incredible, but what really elevates it is the service. Every time we've visited the staff has been attentive and considerate, not to mention excellent at making recommendations (even though we know very little about wine and so we couldn't really give them a lot to work with). My favorite was one time we visited and the server (sommelier? like I said, I don't know much here) learned I have a background in chemistry and we got to talking about how the climate, soil, etc. might affect the flavors. Very cool.

For our wedding, they were again fantastic. They made good recommendations with respect to quantity, didn't try to over-sell or anything like that. Thanks to our visits, we already knew what we wanted, so we didn't need help selecting. When my parents went to pick the order up and make a visit of their own, the staff were really sweet and made sure they got an extra good table, to celebrate the special weekend, even though we weren't having the wedding there or anything.

Overall, an emphatic recommendation to visit if you have the chance!

Not worth the hype. It took over 15 minutes and having to tell the staff we had seated to be served.

As a wine club member, I enjoy coming regularly with my family and friends! This is an awesome place and we love it!

Sweet heat pizza is a must try

Came here for an afternoon of my bachelorette weekend and the experience was amazing. Amir was our wine educator and he was great, figured out our tastes in wine and served us some really good ones (highly recommend the rosé). He even took some photos for us which was really nice! They have some delicious flatbreads too if you want to have a meal here. Definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area.
