***CASH ONLY***DO your patron a favor and PAY THE CREDIT CARD FEES AND ACCEPT CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS. It's called the "COST OF DOING BUSINESS"! I will never step foot in this place again. All servers should inform their patrons prior to service that they ONLY accept CASH. No credit cards, no debit cards, no personal checks.....Nothing posted on their website about CASH ONLY either. I had to leave my license with whom i suppose was the owner, and he told me that there was an ATM down the road to get money out. I had $40 cash, but it would not cover the dollar and chane over that or a tip. So i had to leave to get cash to pay up. The food was very expensive too. I got 3 eggs that came with 3 thin sausage patties, country potatoes, and rye bread. $19.00. Coffee $6.00, side of bacon $8.00, and a soda water off tap $6.00. Total was over $41 plus tip! Never again! Treat your patrons better!

Cute house. Neat location. Cash only. Tiny sign under cash register. They take your ID while you do the walk of shame to the ATM 3 blocks away. $100 for 3 to eat a greasy spoon breakfast. Nobody looks like they like their job. I wished I had read the reviews first but just did a search nearby on the way to Big Sur. Yikes!

I went during a family reunion and memorial for my Grandfather. Rocky’s favorite meal of the day was breakfast and this was his spot during numerous golf trips to Pebble Beach. Our group filled the entire place!I can't say enough about the staff and the owner Randy. They were patient with the kids, the food was quick and the service was friendly throughout.I ordered the Denver Omlette which ran around $17 if I remember. The portion was filling but not too much. When I return I plan to try one of the benedict dishes next. The black coffee was great and I also enjoyed the orange juice. My kids enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes! If you are looking to support a local business for breakfast, Katy’s place should probably be high on your list. #EatLocalCarmelParking: We came early and found multiple free parking spots on the street.Kid-friendliness: The staff was great with our kids and got the food out quickly to the little ones.

Horrible place! Do not recommend. The service was horrendous, you can only pay cash (and the waitress sent us across the street to use the ATM machine), and it was very hot inside. I ordered crab cakes and waffles to share with my kids. The crab cakes were cold and the waffles were not made from scratch (you could tell they used one of those packaged mixes that you can buy at a grocery store). It was also very expensive! Which is expected in Carmel but not for this kind of brunch! Very disappointing! Will never be back!

Breakfast was delicious! I'm celiac and was able to order a Denver omelette with potatoes as a gluten free option. So good and I didn't have any gluten contamination. The fresh pressed apple juice is really good and not too sweet like others. Can't wait to go back next time.

After many years of going to Katie's this will be our last time $6 coffee and cash only makes this a tourist trap.

This is more of a suggestion slip than a review. Service was great. Huevos Rancheros was a little off. Not sure if it was watery or the tomatoes weren’t ripe but mediocre at best. Everything else looked great though. Suggestions: 1.) it’s 2024, let’s start using a credit card machine. This place is cash only. 2.) Don’t fill your drinks with so much ice. I tried mixing a lemon into my iced tea and it felt like a dang iceberg. 3.) If you’re going to give out go cups and you don’t have straws in the restaurant, don’t give me a lid with a straw hole. Cafe lids with a sipping hole would be preferred. Other than that, keep up the good work.

Locals told us this is best breakfast in town. We sat outside and service was friendly and prompt. Menu had many options from several types of Benedict’s and many pancake styles including an awesome, fluffy gluten free version. I sprang for the upgraded syrup option and was glad I did. Came with thick sliced bacon and a perfectly basted egg. Will definitely visit again.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options with minimal customization not sure about vegan

Food was very basic. $6 for a cup of coffee. Banana pancakes were extremely bland, and it was just some banana slices on top, cold butter on the side that couldn’t be spread. $65 for two cups of coffee and two breakfast meals. Went to pay and was told it’s cash only, so we had to walk in the rain to the bank to get cash. Would not recommend, or return.

Outstanding Irish bennedict which is corned beef hash on English muffins with hollandaise sauce. And their Brioch French toast is NOT to be missed. Great little place recommended by a local. Great service. Bring cash though. Its cash only.

This used to be a great restaurant. Obviously, it is under new management, and the Asian gentleman that waited on us that appeared to be the owner was rude to say the least. The food was so so. Given the terrible attitude of the staff we will never go back. The fact that they only accept cash is not obvious anywhere, but they act like you should know. There are plenty of good places to eat in Carmel. This is not one of them.

Food was OK. It’s CASH ONLY. They don’t mention this anywhere noticeable. Only sign is a 6 inch placard under the lip of the lectern when you walk in. I am 6’3 and too tall to even see this. Literally not in my field of view. So what happens, is after you finish your meal, you find out its cash only, then you have to walk 3 blocks and back to an ATM. I waited in a 15 minute line at the ATM to then walk back and pay. Your staff should advise people of this ahead of time, maybe a sign that people can actually see and actively notice? I saw 3 other people doing what I had done in a span of 25 minutes. It’s 2024, only accepting cash is ridiculous and probably for tax evasion purposes.
