I had dinner here for the first time last May. I love schnitzel; and the schnitzel tasted incredible at this place! The Swiss Matterhorn dessert was heavenly! I hope to bring my dad here soon. I will definitely try the cheese fondue next time.

Called in on Friday evening. Had the fish and chips as they were recommended by a friendAbsolutely lovely, the fish was cooked in a light crispy batter. All washed down with two glasses of Warsteiner Dunkel beer.

My wife and I took my mother to Lugano's and had a wonderful dinner. This is my mothers favorite place to eat because of the German food.

We came here on a Thursday night @ 6pm. There were 4 of us celebrating a birthday. Our server Cesar was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was cozy and reminiscent of a Swiss chalet we had been in Switzerland. For appetizer, we ordered Swiss cheese fondue to share between the 4 of us, which was ample and delicious! Afterwards we each ordered different entrees. The entrees came out hot and good portion size! We ordered chicken schnitzel, sand dab, lamb shank and a veal dish. All were delicious and we enjoyed it! Then, Cesar came out and presented the birthday dessert and candle to our son! The dessert was their famous apple strudel! All in all, we had a fabulous dinner and experience there, not to mention the price was right! Cesar helped to make it very delightful. The reason for 4 star is that the gravy in the veal dish tasted like the flour was not cooked down enough. But that's just me being picky.... Thank you Lugano! We'll be back!

With the closing of Matterhorn in San Francisco, it became much harder to get our fondu fix. Then we discovered Lugano. There are 'fondu restaurants' but the real stuff is not particularly common. Not only do they feature a pleasant selection of the gooey goodness, they offer a great menu for the cheese refusenik. The schnitzel is nice and the onion soup gratinee is generous and well prepared. Good wine list, good value for money. Bring Fido - Lugano is super dog-friendly. Gratifying service.Parking: Large public lot.Kid-friendliness: Great menu for everyone.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible.

Nestled in The Barnyard Shopping Village, away from the touristy hustle, Lugano Swiss Bistro offers a delightful escape to Switzerland right in the heart of Carmel. The interior, reminiscent of a Swiss chalet, immerses diners in an alpine atmosphere, creating a unique and charming dining experience. One of the standout features is the ample parking, a rare find in Carmel, making the journey to Lugano Swiss Bistro convenient and stress-free. The local and cozy ambiance sets the stage for a delightful culinary adventure. Our order comprised the onion soup, cheese fondue, raclette, and a decadent dessert - chocolate fondue. This combination was more than enough for three adults. While the cheese fondue could have used a touch more corn starch for thickness, the flavors were on point, transporting us to the Swiss Alps. Beyond the Alpine ambiance and flavorsome dishes, what truly impressed was the value for money. The bill, totaling less than $70 for a generous spread, exceeded expectations. Given the quality and quantity of the food, one might have anticipated a bill well over $100. The service was friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. Lugano Swiss Bistro in Carmel not only provides a culinary journey to Switzerland but does so without breaking the bank. For those seeking authentic Swiss cuisine and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Lugano Swiss Bistro is a hidden gem that offers both charm and value.

I'm German/American and lived as a kid in Switzerland. Schpreche Schwyzerdütsch wienen St Galler. ?The interior of the place is reminiscent of many a Gaststube I visited in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, however the decor is distinctly Swiss. I recognized many items from my childhood. All the dishes I've tried are very tasty, excellently prepared and presented, and the service is better than great. While I immensely enjoy the food, it's the ambiance that sets this restaurant apart from most Germanic restaurants. It's definitely worth the visit to the impeccably and beautifully landscaped Barnyard complex.Kid-friendliness: I think kids would enjoy the many colorful Swiss momentos on the walls. The wood interior is really homey, homies.

Lugano's restaurant has a very cozy environment. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. I had the cheese fondue and the Swiss onion soup that's to die for. Our main dish has the most delicious shrimp and last but not least our dessert was simply the best! I'm so glad I found a place like this while visiting the bay. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town! A++++

A bit out of your way if you are visiting Carmel-by-the-Sea, but the place is sure delightful. Interior is definitely distinct from causal dining in California - wooden wall and lots of cute Swiss-themed decoration all over the place. My Swiss husband and mother in law approved the food :) My bratwurst was tasty and the portion was great.
