One of our favorite places in Carmel. This is the first time we did not order our favorite -haystack onion rings, which we love. My husband had the lentil soup and I had the burrata, tomatoes and strawberry salad. We split a delicious swordfish served on a Romesco sauce with rice, mushrooms, peas and fennel. We splurged and order a olaliberry crumble with ice cream. Everything was delicious!!
Rio Grill has been a great place to dine beginning in the early 80's. I have been many times over the years, and the quality remains very high. I also recommend Montrio in Monterey, and Tarpey's Roadhouse, also in Monterey.
From greeting to leaving everything was excellent. We ordered cocktails and they were delivered promptly. The specials were fully explained and we chose our meals with one person ordering two appetizers and one an entree. We requested for the entree to be served with the 2nd appetizer and that wasn't a problem. Super cocktails, excellent soup, quesadilla and swordfish - all delicious. When the chef brought out the dessert my son had ordered he was personable and visited us...
