Our family was in town on Easter Weekend so we stopped by Rise & Roam Bakery and Pizzeria and so glad we did everything we ordered was delicious!! We had pizza, tomato bisque soup, ceasar salad all so good. It’s an added bonus that the restaurant has a wonderful bakery and great coffee next door!! The almond croissant was AMAZING!

Pastries are very good and the atmosphere is very warm and modern. Service was amazing and everyone there was very nice and helpful. They all had great energy for it being so early in the morning! I had the cinnamon roll and a mocha and my friend had the egg danish and it was all delicious. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors! Great stop for breakfast, I will definitely come again to try their pizza!

Great bakery for a quick breakfast or stop for brunch. They have plenty of drinks and sweet or savory options. I recommend the chai latte, prosciutto croissant, and quiche. They have so many amazing dessert options it’s almost hard to choose. So I say it’s worth multiple visits!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options for alternative diets.

Great addition to Carmel with very good food and friendly service. Lots of great breakfast options and light lunch options. Our new “go to” for when we don’t want to cook or go out for a big sit down lunch.

Went here for bread and pastries two days in a row while visiting Carmel. Savory pastries are phenomenal, quiche was silky, and the rustic sourdough bread had a soft crumb and a crunchy crust. Apparently I need to come back for pizza.

Avoid if you want a relaxed seated experience. Need to first wait in a silly long queue or be served. Then have to wait to pick up your order when called. So if you go and sit you need to continually get up and check. Stupid system. Could get the same quality of food anywhere. Nothing exceptional. And in light of your exceptional lack of service, you have the audacity to have your eftpos machine ask for a tip at point of sale! Hahaha…

Nice bakery with a nice selection of breads, pastries, and pizza as well as unique ice cream. Takeout is done over the phone there is no online ordering despite their web site. I've been there a few times in the past. I was a big fan of their pizza. However, I revisited Rise and Roam recently and I was very disappointed. About a year ago, I had the most wonderful pepperoni pizza there, so I figured I'd head over for takeout dinner. Unfortunately, something has changed since I was last there. I ordered a cheese pizza. The bottom crust was not as good as I remember. It was not thin, but had the thickness of Mountain Mikes or Roundtable (mind you I don't eat at those places since I was a teenager). Also, like those establishment's: the tomato sauce was horrible. It was salty and way too acidic. It tasted like it came from a store-bought jar. (It is so easy to make a good pizza tomato sauce: Crushed Marzanos, +/- garlic, olive oil, and salt spread thinly that is how the great pizza makers do it, SIMPLE) Next, there was too much sauce and not enough cheese. The balance was off. The outside crust was good and I ate that but threw the main part of the pizza with the horrible sauce in the trash. The crust was great with olive oil and salt. However, I wanted Pizza. Still hungry, I ended up whipping up some Cacio de pepe at home for dinner. I also ordered the Caesar salad, which was just eh. Dressing was good with lots of anchovy flavor which I like, however not a big fan of coriander seed and caraway croutons. Also the croutons were huge and very hard. They also overwhelmed the salad. It was tons of croutons with a sprinkling of lettuce. I threw most of the croutons out.I also got a Kouign-Amann. It was good on the outside , buttery and just the right amount of sweetness but when I took a big bite my taste buds were traumatized by a sour slightly sweet lemon filling that was in it. The filling overpowers the delicious pastry. Never had one with lemon filling, and it was not good. I just ate the outside (very good) and threw the inside filling and pastry it touched in the garbage.Everything else in the shop looked really good. I think it is worth checking out for the baked goods but I'd steer clear of the cheese pizza, Caeser salad, and Kouign-Amann.

This chic spot in Carmel by the Sea made our trip worthwhile. The bakery goods are perfectly balanced and delicious--I enjoyed the spinach Quiche and almond croissant. Rise + Roam Bakery & pizzeria exudes delicious style, and the staff, particularly Matthew, served us with kindness and a gracious smile. We came back twice during our weekend trip. Highly recommended.

I love it here because if you don't have time to have a nice sit down meal in Carmel you can stop by here and get an excellent quick bite to eat. Staff is always so nice. The pizza is very good but if you want something that knocks your socks off try the croissant. I have never had a more buttery, croissant with so many layers outside of Paris. I wish everyone made their croissants like this. I will now stop here every time we visit Carmel just to get a croissant.
