This is the very best sushi restaurant in the area! The food is amazing, the server was so attentive and the ambiance was clean and calming. I came on here to rave about the food but truly had a wonderful experience and plan on coming back soon!

I came here with my family and by the looks of how empty the restaurant was when we first entered... we should've left. There was absolutely no one in the restaurant except for one person sitting at the bar who happened to be the hostess and apparently the server as well. We figured ok we are only one in restaurant food will come out quick and hot. I ordered salmon dish and rest of family ordered chicken teriyaki. The food was warm not hot and steamy, veggies were saturated with a white sauce that my family didn't like. Most or all Asian restaurants give soup/ miso AND salad. Our one and only server asked if we wanted soup OR salad. Food honestly was less than mediocre and I sadly paid 157.00. Really not worth it at all. We have eaten here before years ago on a Valentine's Day and it was pretty busy. Food was hot and steamy but was expensive back then as well. But it was a memorable experience. This recent visit was also memorable... memorable enough to be a reminder to self that the food was not great, you pay extra for both a bowl of soup and salad, when the restaurant looks empty empty to leave, and look at previous reviews of a restaurant.
Really wanted to like this place. Fish was all really fresh and tasty but the rolls were a mess. Whoever was making the sushi needs to slow down. The rolls were poorly constructed so one side of the roll contained appropriate ratios of ingredients while the opposite end of the roll was comically small and missing ingredients. Furthermore the rolls weren't pressed with enough pressure so everything just fell apart immediately when picking them up. The rice seemed like it had been sitting around for a while. Edamame was overcooked so instead of pleasant and firm they were mushy. There were only 7-8 other tables but there was a large group of screaming children (and obnoxious parents) running around the restaurant and ruining the vibe. Not the restaurant's fault. There were only two waiters on duty who seemed to be struggling to juggle everything. It took about 15 min after we sat down for someone to come over and take our order. Not somewhere we'd be excited to return.

The food was amazing as always. I have been a patron for about 30 years. Everything on there menu is delicious. Only complaint this time was very slow server that did not come to the table often to replenish drinks and we did not order all the appetizers we wanted to because he took to long to come back to the table.

Robata's is one of my favorite “go to” restaurants. The food is consistently delicious and they servers are caring and friendly. The owners are thoughtful, accommodating and friendly. The sushi is excellent.

Hmmm, I remember eating at Robatas 20 years ago and it was so much better .... We sat in the bar area and ordered a spicy tuna ( $14) and a fire roll ($20) . Really small rolls and very little fish inside the rolls. I think the sushi bar at Safeway might be a little better ..., what the heck ...?

Delicious! Food was artistically, prepared and served on beautiful platters. Waiter was extremely attentive, helpful, and efficient. The owners are very warm and welcoming. We brought our nephew from Washington DC for his first time to Robatas. He said this was as good as anything he could get in DC. there are so many wonderful, comfortable seating options only adding to the lovely experience. 
Great choice for our Valentine's dinner. The food was excellent and the service was superior. Stopping at the chocolatier Pieces of Heaven on our way out was a great idea. We've been to Robata many times in the past and look forward to returning again.
Steamed veggies were cold, and the ribeye appetizer was cold. The salad came in a hot bowl. Serve never refilled my beverage or asked if I wanted another one. No offer for dessert. The food was decent, but probably wouldn't return.
I made a reservation at the morning for the same day at 6.30, when we get there, they give us a very small table at the end by the restroom and noisy kitchen ! We were disappointed and didnt sit there and we sat at the bar. They shouldnt set a table at that spot! Bar was quite. We ordered appetizer with our drinks, appetizer was delicious but it wasnt warm. We ordered sushi but we had about 40 minutes. Sushi wasn't good, we didn't like it and it was pricey! Ambiance was good at the bar area.

We were greeted right away & he acknowledged that it was a date night for us & offered us a private seating area with a fireplace. Very nice! Food was very good & came out quickly. We shared a bunch of smaller dishes & the variety was fun & portions were perfect. We will definitely return!

If it’s been a while give this place a shot! The ambience is amazing and wooden- best Japanese restaurant space in town. The sushi is fresh, no mushy ikura here. Amaebi was great, scallop too. The service is attentive. They even have karaage. Better sake selection than most spots in the area. Only thing is I wish they had uni!!

We met some friends last night. First visit and definitely not our last! Yummm! The cream sauce, salad and bacon wrapped chicken was delish! We ordered the Louisiana Sushi roll and regretted not getting a second. Great service too!

Such a great spot! We loved the decor, we also loved the way the restaurant was divided up, our dinner area felt very quaint. The food was VERY good, if I had to pick a negative it would only be that their roll selection was smaller. That being said, the variety was great and the rolls we ordered were delicious. We will definitely be back.
