This was our first time to the Shearwater Tavern - we were so wonderfully surprised - everything was truly amazing, the service, the ambience, the staff were truly some of the most customer oriented folks we have ever encountered - The food was outstanding !!!! We will definitely be back - thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome , especially our server Christian - you did a great job!!!!!

Our waiter Christian provided Superior service. I hope if you eat at this restaurant you will be able to have him attend to your needs as he was just fantastic. And the fish and chips were fantastic and so was the butternut squash soup.

Exceeded expectations. The burger lived up to its good reviews but Prime Rib special on Thursday nights was a phenomenal value for $41 — huge, delicious piece of meat w/yummy horseradish sauce. If we lived in Carmel, we'd be Thursday night regulars!

I had the Coastal Traveler with goat cheese and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. Angel was our server and she was indeed an “angel.” We had three kids with us and she was so patient and kind. I loved the music but the smell of propane was strong and that is the only reason I am giving 4 stars. I also have a sensitive nose so perhaps others won’t notice. Overall, fantastic experience!

When you eat at the restaurant at your hotel you often don’t expect to be wowed, but Shearwater was the exception to that rule! The food was absolutely delicious!! Overnight oats may not sound exciting but they were a 12/10! My kids split the French toast and my husband enjoyed his generously portioned smoked salmon plate. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She and the manager also made our meal extra special by bringing out not one but two birthday desserts for our son who was celebrating a birthday! To top it off, our server was kind enough to bring the birthday boy and his little brother hot wheel cars. This was actually the best meal and restaurant we visited while in Carmel for 2 nights. The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated too, very nice ambiance! Oh and the coconut lattes were also great!! Two big thumbs up from this family of 4.

Excellent humus and excellent fish and chips. Probably all time best for both. Very pleasant wait staff.

We went to hear the jazz and we're not disappointed. The service was fine. The food was meh. I ordered a breakfast bowl with poached eggs which came hard boiled. I expect better from a place like this. My wife was also unimpressed with her breakfast. The high point was the coffee which was terrific especially considering it was decaf which we have had very little good examples from most of our experiences other places. The jazz was world class and fabulous!

We went because our friends were playing. Just Jazz, with Leon Joyce Jr. trio Food was fine. Ambiance was ok. The staff made sure we all knew it was going to be loud.

I really just go when there's live music and I love that they're doing some on a regular basis. I haven't eaten there yet but my friends do and they seem to enjoy it. They are certainly making a real effort to attract locals which I appreciate and show up for. The pool looks great, I haven't seen the rooms but they seem like a busy place and the lobby is beautiful.

Just stumbled upon this restaurant since it was close to our hotel. Great service and food was wonderful. My husband and I shared the French onion soup, spinach salad and burger. Everything was made to perfection and didn't dissapoint.

Great restaurant for being in a hotel. Love their Calamari, their Burgers, prawns, hanger steak and sea bass. Great staff, but they're usually spread a little thin. I stay when I'm working in Pebble Beach and haven't had a bad meal there. Crab cake was ok, but too much filler, not enough crab. Seems like many locals hang out at the bar. Very chill atmosphere

Stopped in for dinner while visiting my parents who live in the Carmel area. Even though it’s not on the main drag, this is a great place to eat for good good, a chill mid century vibe, and friendly staff (thanks Tiffany!). We had the calamari (A+), hangar steak (cooked to perfection), house hummus and veggies, crab cake, and the Caesar salad with grilled prawns (YUM). Kid friendly as well. Def stop in here - breakfast and dinner.

We had an outstanding brunch! Delicious omelettes, perfect mimosas and exceptional service from Angel, Tiffany and the excellent bartender whose name I have forgotten.

Food was okay, slightly undeseasoned. Service a little slow because of short staffing apparently
