Overall very good sushi spot. Plenty of rolls and other items to choose from. I will be back. The it’s a little off ocean ave and the inside looks a little dated in my opinion. The walls are covered in pictures which makes it look cluttered. I’m sure that’s a local thing. The service was pretty good although a little slow due to it being a little busy in there. I need to come back during their happy hour- three rolls for $20!
Fave sushi in Carmel. We’ve been coming for years. This pic is about 15 years old???
Fantastic sushi from an unassuming nook in the heart of Carmel-By-The-Sea!
If heaven serves sushi, this is it.
From the moment we walked through the pearly doors of Sushi Heaven, we were greeted by Sun—yes, the actual Sun—radiating warmth and positivity that set the tone for a truly divine dining experience.
We started with the Firecracker Roll, and let me just say, it was sinfully good. Perfectly balanced heat with a burst of flavor that made our tastebuds ascend. The Hawaiian poke bowl was like a tropical vacation in a bowl—fresh, vibrant, and utterly satisfying. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we were blessed with the tempura green tea ice cream—crispy on the outside, cool and creamy on the inside, and absolutely heavenly.
Big halos and high praise to Eduardo, our angelic waiter, who catered to our every need with grace and impeccable timing. Ocean floated by now and then to keep our table spotless, like a serene breeze keeping the clouds away. And Katarina, with a smile that could light up the stars, made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal.
Sushi Heaven isn’t just a name—it’s a promise. And we can't wait to return for another bite of paradise.
5 shining stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We went there for dinner on a weekday in 2025 April. Parking was difficult---we found free street parking 2-3 minutes away from the restaurant. The ambiance was really nice. Food came pretty soon after ordering and was decent and nothing great. The quantity was on the small side. The meal was slightly on the costly side, especially considering the small(ish) quantity. Overall, we were slightly disappointed and will probably not come back here again.
Have visited this place since I was a child. Small cozy environment. Always happy to come back.
The atmosphere and choice of music is very good. Whenever I go to a restaurant I want to hear good music and I did. The food was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend.
Big portions and quality fish w/ at a good price. Salmon was creamy and sliced thick as was the yellowtail. Excellent rice. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.
Great authentic Japanese experience
The owners were very friendly I highly respect their effort in giving a true authentic taste of Japanese

The sushi restaurant have vegan options and the sushi is really good.
Super chill right when I walked in, one of the least hassle restaurants I've been to.
Learn from my dumb mistake though and read the happy hour menu all the way to the end, where it says dine in only. I'm out an extra six bucks that honestly I couldn't really afford right now (just for calamari. which i still recommend the hell out of)
Exquisite fried squid and that sauce I never asked about though. I left no crumbs
