Food was really good and service was quick. The chicken sandwich was flavorful and a good size. At $14 it didn't come with a side of any sort, which is a bit on the pricey side. The hotdog was good but again at $11 it didn't come with any sides. We purchased a side of fries for $5 and it was the highlight of our meal. They were super crispy and flavorful. The sauces were also pretty delicious. If in the area I would stop again. It has a nice seating area outdoors and a good selection of drinks. A cute spot to hangout and stop with friends after a hike or some time outdoor

The tri-tip sandwich was incredible. Seriously one of the best sandwiches we've ever had anywhere. I wanted to get another one the next day but we had to leave town and head home. The brisket was good but that day I think it had to go a little longer and render down more of the fat, but it was still very tasty. We ended up having a very nice picnic with a bunch of stuff to go. Highly recommend!

We needed a plan for lunch for the following day with a busy day of activities. Found this place on Yelp and ordered online. We showed up and there was someone inside at the register but the place was locked up and closed. The lady unlocked the door and asked us if we had ordered online. She apologized to us and informed us that they had JUST opened and were working out kinks for their online ordering service. Bummer. But she was so kind about it. So we came back another time with the kids for lunch. The salads are packed so hard it could technically feed 4 grown humans. The sandwiches were delish and the kids ate everything we ordered so that's a win. Can't wait to try their breakfast burrito!!

This place used to be so great until chef Todd took over. It's nothing like it used to be an the quality of the food had gone downhill and we'll as price going up. We miss the Bruno's sandwiches and I'll never return to the deli again. Thumbs down!

This is a tough one. We ordered the paisano and the potato/olive salad to go. Total was just shy of $26! The sandwich was $16 and the minuscule salad was $6, so not sure why the total was more than $22. California doesn't tax on cold food products. The sandwich was good but it was very small, too small to share, for $16. The salad was a hard pass and a complete ripoff. It had grit in it (sand?). Even without the grit there wasn't an olive to be found. $6 for a half of a potato is an insult and it just wasn't good. I would go back for the sandwich but only if the price came down. Just too expensive for what it is.

No longer known as Valley Hills but as Bear + Flag Roadside and it was AWESOME! We love Chef Todd and were so happy to have lunch here. Parker was just as friendly and amazing as Chef Todd. The Mother Clucker sandwich was delicious as was the brisket sandwich. We definitely will be coming back the next time we are in Carmel.

A new favorite. Wonderful salad options for the veggie lovers and sandwiches look amazing. Drink selection is diverse, and you can enjoy on site on the outdoor patio. Farro and carrot side is a must try, and rainbow salad. Would love to see a veggie sandwich option! Great food, great location and great service.

A nice upgrade from what used to be the old Valley Hills Deli, chef Todd Fisher (formerly of Folktale, Seventh & Dolores, and several other places) is doing a nice job transforming this place into a much nicer place with a more innovative menu.

The BLT is INCREDIBLE. It's definitely the best BLT we've ever had. We came to visit Carmel Valley for the week and we ended up eating here almost everyday because the sandwiches are that good. You really can't go wrong with any sandwich you get, but the brisket and BLT were both mine and my boyfriends favorite.
