Both the wine and wine maker are top notch. You will be so glad you stopped by to meet the talent behind Rombi's fantastic wines.

I can't believe I have not written a review of this lovely tasting room. It's been a few months since we stopped in, but we had such a great experience I had to share. We have our favorites in Carmel Valley, but decided that when we visit, we need to make a point of trying a new spot. On this trip out, Rombi was the spot. They were highly recommended by Summer over at Parsonage who knows our palate very well. The tasting room sits back from Carmel Valley Road just a bit so if you weren't actively looking for it, it could be easy to miss. Their address is 1 Center Street, but they are basically right in front of Jerome's Market. The tasting room is cozy with a bar and only a few tables. They are only open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00. Typically the tasting room is manned by Sal, owner and winemaker. On our visit, Sal was elsewhere, but Kathy took wonderful care of us. Rombi is very small production with only about 300 cases a year. They specialize in reds. We were treated to tastes of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah and Petit Verdot. Honestly, we loved each wine we tried. If I had to pick favorite reds in Carmel Valley these would be it with the exception of Parsonage wines which we dearly love. Kathy told us about the wines and made our visit so enjoyable. Each wine is priced around $70 - I believe one was priced a bit higher. I can understand the pricing with such small production and wonderful quality. However, I was so surprised the tasting fee was only $10 at the time we visited which is practically unheard of anymore. I would like to stop in again someday if only to meet Sal, who I hear is quite the character. Of course, we'll have to ask him "Where's Kathy?". Kathy made a point of telling us when she is behind the bar all she ever hears is "Where's Sal?" Rombi is definitely well worth a stop!

I came to Rombi for wine tasting and purchasing their red wines for a few times in 2022. Usually on Saturdays and we were always served by the friendly owner, Sal Rombi. The wine tasting fee was $10 the last time we went, which has been a good 4 months. Inside has many nice seating which are good for small groups and couples to enjoy their wine. One time we had our toddler with us and Sal was ok with her joining us. We did enjoy their reds the most because they were very smooth and rich. I would very much like to come here more often if I live closer.Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area.

Love this place! Amazing find. I'll be back every year on my birthday. The owner Sal is extremely knowledgeable- vineyards only 20 minutes up the road.

Labor Day weekend 2022 was HOT! Luckily, Rombi was open with AC(yay!) and delicious wine. The winemaker served us his vintages and history around Carmel Valley Village. Purchased two amazing bottles of wine and can't wait to stop in again on our next trip. Thank for you Salvatore for a fabulous time!

We enjoyed Rombi Merlots *so* much when we visited in 2019 that we have them shipped to us almost yearly for special occasions. Hands down the most beautiful wines we have ever had.

We had so much fun doing a tasting at Rombi. We were the only people there at the time and we spent a very pleasurable hour talking to the owner about his wines and the wine making process. Would highly recommend a visit here.

If you are planning to go taste any wines in Carmel Valley, make sure to stop by at Rombi! I don't even know where to start. First of all, the owner is such a awesome dude and really makes you feel welcome. What's even better is his wine. It is the most delicious wine you will ever have. If I had to only drink one wine for the rest of my life it would be his 2016 Cabernet. The smoke from the Soberanes fire in 2016 gives this wine a Smokey flavor and is hands down my favorite wine of all time. Trust me when I say that you have to go to Rombi!!!

When you ask the guy in the tractor what's good for groups and he recommend's Rombi Wines - that's what you do! Go based on the locals recommendation. It's around the corner near the shopping center. It's a small place, unassuming. We were able to take over and get a table off to the side for a flight tasting. It actually turned out to be a Girls Day tasting and we had so much fun.The wines were all reds and very memorable. The one that intrigued us the most was the last one that was affected by the fire a few years ago. It was smoky, but very good.I would definitely go back to pick up a bottle of Syrah the next time I'm in the area.

My husband and I recently took our honeymoon vacation. One of our stops was in Carmel, CA. We had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Rombi at his tasting room and sampling his wine. Wow! Hands down, he produces the best red wine we have ever had! In addition, Mr. Rombi was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I'm so happy we stopped by there. We enjoyed our time at the tasting room very much and even brought some wine home with us to enjoy now and on our wedding anniversary. We also plan to order more wine in the future! I highly recommend Rombi wines.
