Mandatory stop for anyone driving by Mendocino area, food changes seasonally which is a reason to stop by many times! Had a great pork sandwich with their housemade bread!

Amazing food at a cozy spot. Just visited for the first time and will be coming back. Deserves to be a local favorite.I had the rice bowl with chicken, which came with a yogurt-y dressing, roasted carrots, and perfectly cooked, juicy chicken, all with a wonderful spice. My partner had a veggie sandwich and raved about the white bean humus.Vegetarian options: Most of the menu items have vegetarian options; the rice bowl can be had with mushrooms or egg, the veggie sandwich is also a good option.

We visit the Mendocino coast almost yearly. We have eaten at the "best" restaurants and have both enjoyed the experience and have often been disappointed. The hidden gems stand out for us such as the departed Wild Fish...our new find?....Good Bones in Caspar. The setting is historic and is somewhere between a great old bar and the locals favorite place and hangout. The food was superb and earned all praise we can express. Succulent, tasty, well prepared, beautiful execution. The rock cod was so tender, flavorful, and almost fragile to the touch and bite. This place will be worth the dip into Caspar...and the locals are wonderfully friendly and a strong part of the attraction.

This place is a hidden gem! We loved our experience here. They have a seasonal menu and everything is made fresh and from local farms. Highly recommend checking it out!

Ahhh this place is so much fun. It’s a local spot in a quiet neighborhood. The menu is a delight – short, fresh, and seasonal. Seriously, the homemade sourdough is a game-changer, and don't get me started on the meatballs. Drinks and wine were also very good the waitress even mentioned the rosemary for the drink was picked from her garden. Pure home style perfection.

Wow what a gem of a place. Charming space, excellent food. Caspar is so delightful, I'm thrilled to see this place open there. Had a roast half chicken with crispy potatoes and the best baked cabbage I've ever had. It was truly mind blowing, never would have expected that. Will absolutely make this a part of my regular rotation whenever I'm in town. Friendly staff, great drink selection.

What a unique and awesome spot just 8 minutes from downtown Mendocino! This is a little restaurant in Casper that creates unique menus with food from local sources. It is located in an old home and feels like you've walked into a friend's place to have dinner with! They have a bar and plenty of seating. Homemade sourdough, local beers and kombucha on tap, and INCREDIBLE food. The star for us was the quarter chicken which had the most insane flavor paired with cabbage and potatoes and a delicious chimichurri sauce. Not pictured we got seared cod which was caught that day and nice slice of chocolate cake that was simply perfect. My only critique would be since the menu is new every couple days with locally grown goods would be more description on the menu or from the servers about each dish. This would only enhance the excitement for the amazing meal this restaurant will prepare. So excited to go back to this place. Definitely make a pit stop here if you are in town!!

Good Bones was a great restaurant to stop at while visiting the area! The food was simply delicious and comforting without being too heavy. Emma's chocolate cake was the absolute best. They change their menu weekly depending on the local ingredients, and if I lived in the area, it would definitely be a weekly outing to try what's new.

I feel bad posting this review because I really wanted to like the place. The staff was friendly, the place was very cute but the food was definitely lacking, and at the end of the day if the food isn't good it's hard to justify wanting to return. The best thing of the night was the snack plate, but the majority of that were things not really prepared in house, IE cheese and charcuterie. Their Buffalo wings were clearly cooked earlier, and reheated. They came out lukewarm, were seemingly baked and not fried. While it may seem nitpicky.. they didn't have buffalo sauce on them and instead had a house made sort of sweet spicy hot sauce that just lacked the acidic tang and the rich buttery vibes of a true buffalo sauce. The roast chicken was also clearly precooked, as when it arrived it was half warm and half cold, which is never pleasant. When you're paying 50 plus dollars (Admittedly with appetizer, entrée, and drinks ) you just expect more than pre-prepared food being reheated.I realize that the place is relatively new, hopefully it can make adjustments.

Incredible food, friendly service, cozy/hip atmosphere. I drove all the way up from San Francisco to try this spot, and it didn’t disappoint. The only downside is that at some point you have to leave.

Went for weekend brunch and had the tomato toast with soft boiled eggs with chili oil and a side of pork belly and it was the best thing I ate in years. The ingredients are fresh and the pork belly was crispy and charred on the outside and soft on the inside.Staff and owners are incredibly kind and was sad that they weren’t open for dinner when I was there. Will 100% be back.

This simple seaside cottage has a chef-driven menu made from scratch that looks INCREDIBLE.Their home made sourdough with honey butter and sea salt was excellent and Jenna was such a lovely conversationalist!Do yourself and stop by when you’re in the neighborhood!
