Went above and beyond for my small family, when bar patrons began getting vulgar, they offered us a seat outside...food was phenomenal! 100% recommend french dip or choker setter, garlic fries are intense!!!... would support this staff everyday if we lived closer

Delicious food (I got the French Dip; my husband got the Choker Setter with garlic fries—those things were intense!) The service was great & we will be going back.

Came in had great service, great food and drinks. Also I'm Mexican and they were not anything but kind and nice to me. I saw a review about being brown and not getting service. Maybe wrong time like supper busy. I've always gotten the best service.

Food was ok. But service was a bit slow. We waited our fish and chips and Caesar salad almost 25-30 min. And the restaurant was not full at all.
Parking seem to be limited, there are a few spots in front of the building, no parking on the left, and the right the asphalt is covered by No Parking signs

I hate to say this, but it needs to be said so everyone who reads this doesn't have to experience what we did.
Walked in, stood in the doorway without greeting. Had to approach the bartender to ask where we could sit. The older blonde bartender mumbled something about any available booth and about things being slow because of the lack of an extra waitress. We smiled said no problem, and waited.
15mins later I had to go back to the bar and ask for menus, even though the couple behind us had been given menus, ordered and had gotten their food within the next 5-10mins. No Waters, no interest in our well being, even after the waitress came back to inquire about their meal.
The group of 4 at the bar also have their order, and we are now 35 minutes without even a look our way. Being a Native person, with long hair and my (2) brown Co-workers sitting with me, the reason we were being ignored became obvious.
We peacefully got up, dropped the menus off without a word even when making eye contact, sealed the reason we were ignored. We went across the street to Mi Casita and we're welcomed immediately.
Just don't roll the dice with The Ranch House. If you are stopping in Chester, are Native, or are obviously ethnic, you will be ignored. Eat anywhere else, or just push to Susanville.
Let this place just wallow in their toxicity. Everything on the menu is frozen and fried, so you aren't missing much.

A local mainstay in the community of Chester.
Came in for the first time on our way through Chester for beers and a late dinner. Shannon, the owner, is awesome and the place had such a good vibe. We loved playing horseshoes out back! Can’t wait to stop in again our next time through.
Stopped by for a quick bite while staying in town, the food was so good, waiter was extremely nice and polite, atmosphere was so welcoming. Loved this place definitely a good stop.

Choker setter was great and the tri tip in the sandwiches was really tender. Like a French dip but the sauce had a great kick. Onion rings were great and crispy. Serviced was great with friendly ppl all around.
