A gem of a restaurant that is an unexpected treat in a rather remote area on northeastern California. Their brewery is excellent and the food great. It is a must stop on hwy36 through Chester but check the hours of operation first.

my son and I had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday...food was outstanding and survive was efficient and attentive, We have a new favorite place to celebrate or just to have a good night out.

We highly enjoyed the restaurant. The food was fantastic. We also did a flight of beer and tried several flavors. I liked the peanut butter porter but our favorite was the pale. Service was excellent as well. Server was attentive at all times. Would highly recommend and we will return.

First time eating at the Timber House. The food and staff were excellent. The building design with all of the heavy timbers and wooden block walls were very interesting and original.

Wonderful service and a great dining experience! We had the prime rib special and it was delicious! We were also treated to some Valentine chocolate dipped strawberries that made our evening extra special. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!

Food was excellent however I made reservations several weeks in advance and ended up at a table to small that the food we ordered did not even fit on the table and we were behind a tree that made us feel like we were stuck in a corner, I asked twice to be moved but was turned down both times. I had asked to have a simple note placed on the table for our anniversary and that was forgotten by staff, they did apologize and give a complementary desert. Once again the food was excellent and lesson learned that if you want a comfortable roomy seat to book reservations for four to get a booth seat.

My husband and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at the Timber House Brewing and Lodge. It wasn't overly busy so our server was pleasant and attentive, without being obnoxious. The food was perfectly cooked tasty and within a reasonable price range for the area. (I don't mind paying a little extra for a good meal!) The staff were friendly and worked together very well. We ask for our dessert to go and it was packaged nicely with everything we needed to enjoy our treat in the room later. I highly recommend, whether it's a night out for a celebration or if you're a family with children.

Stayed August 2023. There was no door on the bathroom. There was noise and construction early in the morning. There was no one on site and the door required a code which worked intermittently. At the restaurant they said they couldn’t seat us when there were clearly empty tables. The staff did not make us feel welcome. The first thing the waiter said was kitchen is backed up 45 min.

We come every time we are in town, I always get the herb chicken and it has always been good! Last night it was very dry and not much flavor at all, husband always gets a steak and has not been disappointed at all! Last night he ordered a New York which was a bit over cooked for his liking but still had great flavor! Service was great!

Second visit much better than first. Food came out much quicker. Only complaint is that could not order 2 different taco items, they were delicious nonetheless. Saved room for beinget,s were yummy with 2 dipping sauces.

We have gone here twice, it's been great both times. They have delicious cocktails. Fried pickles were great. The restaurant is cozy and can fit larger groups.

We ate at the restaurant and we’re very underwhelmed with the food for the prices and how long we had to wait for them to come out. If the kitchen cannot handle a full dining room management shouldn’t sit everyone at once; this resulted in waiting an hour for bad food.

Clean new facilities, unique atmosphere. Love the motif and the food was great too. Had the “eruption” volcano fries and clam chowder. Top 3 clam chowders I’ve ever had and the brisket on the fries was perfection. Also had the beer flight. I would only recommend the hazy or double IPA though.

Salad was wonderful, Linguine was perfect. Others in my part had burgers that were over cooked but when mentioned this to the waitress they were taken off our bill! Excellent customer service!
