I lived near by in the early 80s when little Joey would be at the restaurant. I've moved since miss the place.

The vibes and aura from this place is very welcoming, it makes me feel like I'm actually in Texas. Staff are courteous and helpful whenever you need them. Food itself is probably one of the closest you'll get to authentic Texan BBQ in SoCal. However prices can be a bit high so be wary of such. Otherwise, great place to stop at

Texas bbq is bland compared to Louisiana bbq. No item stands out in our meal. Everything tasted like it lacked something. The ribs and chicken were moist but more is needed to make a good meal. Other bbq choices not far from joeys that i would consider as it’s not a place i would return.

This was the worst service ever. I ordered 3 racks of ribs 3 days earlier to be ready at a certain time for an event. The lady that took my order over the phone assured me it would be ready. When I went to pick up at the agreed upon time, at first they said there was no record of my order. Someone else checked and saw d oh wait we have it, took my payment. Waiting 20mins asked how long is it going to br. Was told they dont know because kitchen was backed up. What? I ordered 3 days ago. Ended up waiting 1hr. Should of said forget it but like I said this was for and event. Will never order from here again!
I've never had BBQ pasta, Wow, I'm hooked! The food here is amazing!

This was just a horrible experience and we won’t ever go back. I have been going to this restaurant since 1978. I played with Joey in the backyard. It was amazing. Today I got the racist treatment. Apparently I am white. Actually I am Native American. We were treated by the Mexican manager “Savannah” horribly. Actually it was beyond reason. She could not have been more rude if she tried, which we felt she did infact try and succeed. . We did not see a server for 30 minutes and we were literally the only people there. We came at 3 pre dinner and we had a great server who was sent home due to slowness. However the party of 12 that came in 30 minutes later got great service right next to us. I talked to the actual manager who said Savannah was not a manager (she lied) who said he is Joey’s cousin. Bottoms line. Sausage was dry, beef rib was dry, burnt ends were just deep fried brisket cubes, burger was solid, onion rings were great, but overall one person name Savannah ruined this restaurant for us forever. What a piece of Xrap Savannah is.
I love everything about Joey's BBQ except the prices I ordered. A entree that they called The works and that was nearly $65. Good thing two people can eat for 3 days on that thing
Nothing like before... I don't know what happened here.. but now ..it is a really bad service...and food..🤢🤮.. it used to be nice.😮💨
Food was finger leaking good.

Brisket was tasteless other than some salt on the bark. The meal didn't even live up to a back yard barbecue, let alone smoked brisket. The macaroni and cheese tasted like microwaved leftovers. I don't mind $50 dollars for a good meal, but I am sorry I wasted my money at this place. $34 dollars for 8oz of meat. Go buy a couple prime steaks and grill them yourself.
