Great personal experience with the owner. Tour and tasting with lots of conversation about wine and wine making.
Bill Gordon is among the best people and the best winemakers we have ever met. We have been around the world pursuing good wine and this is as good as it gets. His wines rival bottles that are quadruple the price. They are balanced while still being exciting and full of character and the value is unreal. Visiting his tasting room is like sitting down with a good friend and we cannot wait to get back. This is one you shouldn't miss.
Like many, I have been on many winery tours and tastings over the years. The time we spent with William was peerless in comparison. It was so great to spend time with farmer, winemaker, and business owner and hear so many insights that I had never heard in the past - and the wine is excellent. I cannot recommend a visit to William Gordon, and I will certainly plan on coming again sometime!
I have been a member of this incredible winery for a few years now. Bill is passionate about wine making and it shows; I've never had a wine here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Definitely recommend scheduling a visit if you are in the area!**Red wines only.**
Bill was our server and he is the winemaker as well. He did a great job explaining the intricacies of making wine from start to finish as he gave us a tour of the winemaking facility. Lovely tasting room with expansive view of grapevines nearby. My favorite was 2015 Petite Syrah which aged for 10 years. Inky shade, charcoal notes, fine mid-palate, such length ????
Had a great wine tasting experience. We met Bill, the owner and wine maker. He answered all of our questions about wine and more. Tasted a 2018 Hillside red blend $38 - was smooth on palate and nice with food and without. 2018 zin $40 silky. 2015 Petite Sirah $36 was approachable, nice tannins at work here and very inky and lovely. Bill is a master at customer service. He made us feel like old friends. Will definitely be returning.
We were just looking to do a quick tasting. I called and Bill answered, yes “The” William from William Gordon. He was closed to enjoy the rest of his Sunday but said he would open up for us. He totally explained his wine making process, the wines he produces, and gave us a tour. We took too much of his time, but he was never rushed and so pleasant. We even joined his wine club and left with three bottles of wine.
One of our favorites. The 2010 Cab was incredible and the 2013 Rink Vineyard Zin was my wife's favorite.
Bill Pesonen is a great Wine Maker and we simply love buying his collection of Red Wines.
