I was a regular at this bar for a while. Recently I had one too many (which I can admit to) but instead of the bartender telling me politely that he couldn’t serve me additional drinks or calmly explain the situation, he immediately yelled at me and said he had two complaints about me and that I needed to “Get out now!” He literally yelled that at me as the starting point for the dialogue. Being intoxicated, I will readily admit that I did proceed to say some insensitive things after he yelled at me which I do regret and truly feel really bad about, but I think if he had been trained to handle intoxicated people and de-escalate situations better, I wouldn’t have got as upset as I did. Up until this point I had always got along with the staff really well. I honestly think it’s possible that the bartender purposely escalated things with me because he is friends with someone I used to somewhat date and are no longer are cordial but she regularly goes there.
The main thing I was initially doing was being extra chatty with people I always converse with when I’m at the bar like most drunk people do. I hadn’t threatened violence nor was I trying to start fights with people. After I had been yelled out and threatened with cops and to be escorted out, I did say some insensitive things and can take ownership of my part in this . I probably was being a bit much with my conversations but again I handle de escalations on a daily basis where I work and that is now how I would have handled a drunk person. The bartender did end up calling the cops because I refused to leave until I had my tab and until he cancelled the tip, I did not want to reward his rude behavior.
I think I’m banned there for 90 days or life now- not really sure. But it’s unfortunate because I really enjoyed coming to this business and there’s not a lot of bars that have the atmosphere that the Hook has. I really wish the owner here would train the bartenders to de-escalate situations better so that you won’t continue losing people who regularly come here.
If the owners response is to rehash the situation and belittle me, that is very unbecoming of a business. I would hope that both sides of the situation can be looked at and something workable could be worked out going forward.

Not that this place isn't very good but you do have to keep in mind that it's very friendly to the regulars and the staff here definitely don't mind telling you how they feel so if you're not into that you may want to stay clear.

Its dead inside, woman refused to serve me after my 5th drink. When no one was inside to watch the game of the establishment. I was minding my own business by myself too, and not talking to any other person in the establishment. All I did was ask for another drink to continue my past time, the bartender rudely cut me off and ruined my night and told me I was not allowed another drink when i had not stared any problems whatsoever or even talking to anyone in the building. I couldn't enjoy my time in the solitude of my own local bar, thats so called a friendly environment. Im quite disappointed in the bartender who had an attitude to start off with.

Seth is amazing!! I try making it in on Saturdays because he's usually in and he is quick with service, somehow makes time to conversate while at the same time taking care of everyone at the bar and at tables.. Such a sweetheart, and always makes my night with his humor and service..

My sisters and I was playing pool next door and came here for some drinks. It's a small place with bad customer service. I would not come back or recommend anyone here. The male bartender was rude and unprofessional and using profanity.

Can’t say anything bad about the place. It wasn’t busy when we got there because it was early. We came in to watch the NASCAR race and they were happy to put it on a TV for us which is very nice since it’s Sunday with football games. They don’t serve food, but you’re welcome to bring it in. The bartender was very pleasant and I thought the prices were very reasonable. I did get pestered by a female patron, but the bartender took care of that.

I would have to agree with The Rekluze and Jaurez. Security was Hella rude my husband was injured after the big black bartender threw him against the car. We've contacted a lawyer I just hope they camerras
