They have a great selection of meats & seafood. Their homemade macaroni salad is the best I’ve ever had. They have some fresh veggies, specialty & gourmet food items and special loaves of bread. There are wines and sauces and some bbq items available also. Outside they have a walk up window to order to -go hot food. Good service & good food!
Great products, friendly service.
Their meat quality has gone downhill, along with the attitude of those behind the meat counter.
The other store associates seem to understand what their business is, and what they get up for each day. This is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. I figure 1-star reviews means you have no idea what you're doing, and probably shouldn't even be in business.
If the guys behind the meat counter don't understand their jobs, or that yes, a better attitude makes ALL the difference in the world when dealing with the public, then maybe they aren't cut out for being butchers.
Yes, it IS all about customer service and quality. Quality and taste just aren't there anymore, but their general store service personnel are always helpful, and their off-the-shelf offerings are pretty outstanding.
they serve a good tri tip sanwich..
They do a really good tri-tip and for an extra $1.50. they'll then slice it for you
Nothing like the original. Double the pricing and half the product. We paid $44 for half of a very salty cooked tri tip plus $5 to slice. The original sells it for $34 and it’s $1.50 extra to slice it. We always buy boxes of hamburger patties. At this location, they don’t sell any meats in bulk. Don’t waste your money here. Go to the original location for better buys.
The to-go window is an absolute blessing in a pinch to feed a crowd. Customer service and food is always quick and wonderful.
The best place in CA. A taste of how it used to be.
20 minute wait outside in the sun on their patio waiting for a $12.99 daily sandwich meal of a dry tri-tip sandwich, a little handful of freezer fries and a watered down drink they made immediately and had sit there for the 20 minutes until the sandwich was finally put together that cost $16 total….. Go to Mike’s Grill on Herndon and Cedar for better quality and more quantity for that price!
Fantastic. We have enjoyed the great meats they have here. Good for BBQ
Restaurantji Recommends
Have always loved the sandwiches and sides at this location; bought a pulled pork sandwich today that was dry, bread tasted stale & no BBQ sauce. Most disappointing meal ever! Asked for sauce on the side & NOTHING.
I went there to pick up prime ribs. I asked the person behind the counter if he could put seasoning on my meat for me he refused. And told me I could get the marinated ribeye which were terrible. When I go to a place like this I expect good service and people that know what they’re talking about and how to treat people and how to deal with their meats. Very dissatisfied with the customer service the people behind the counter seemed like little kids that didn’t know what they were doing.
Super cool place
.amazing selection...super clean..nice staff
Great selection of meats, spices , and everything needed for that backyard BBQ !
I had such high expectations from the restaurant area. I hadn't bought a breakfast burrito there in years. I couldn't wait to try one again and introduce my son as well. The potatoes were firm and nothing was like what I remembered. There was hardly any egg in it. Moving on weeks later, I decided to try the sandwiches, tri-tip for my son and chicken for me. My poor kid couldn't even take a good bite. It was full of thick pieces of fat. The chicken was very dry and firm. Fries were nothing to brag about. The only decent thing was the potato salad!! No drinks. Service was not great as the gal was not that friendly at all. Swear people hate working these days!! $40 lunch for two, definitely not worth it at all!! Please do better!! I'd hate to see another business disappear.
From the deli, we often get chucks. They are not very good cuts these days. Massive amounts of waste after cooking it because there's not much meat there. There's lots of fat n hard stuff throughout. The meaty parts do come out very tender; I'll give them that. So yes, they deserve their one star for that and the potato salad.
