Don’t even bother coming here, it’s a rip off. Poor quality of meats and sides. The food served was practically inedible. The only good meat choice was the beef brisket, and that’s probably because it’s frozen. The rest of the meat options were old. Galbi is one of my favorites but couldn’t even enjoy that as it was old and chewy. I ended up spitting it out. Ordered the tofu soup but even that was a disappointment as it is not the true tofu soup (soondubu). The broth is different, received 1 piece of tofu and several mushrooms.The banchan (sides) were terrible too. I have never seen or eaten brown kimchi before today, and I had to spit that out too. The japchae was hard. The pickle cucumber was a nasty too. So I didn’t bother trying the other 2 sides. Also, they only offer rice and/or lettuce.For an AYCE KBBQ, it’s not worth the price. They try to make money so they up-charge for everything from water to using your card. They charge the highest gratuity percentage automatically as well, even though their services do not match. My daughter was charged as an adult so they could make extra money because they have an inaccurate height measurement that indicates she’s 5’3-5’5, but at the doctors she’s 4’10. Even if I showed recent medical records of her height, there was no point because they want their money and they wanted it now.

If you travel for work and decide to eat here, they only allow a minimum of 2 guests. So for you solo workers you’re out of luck at this place. Do have to say the atmosphere was nice for the few seconds I was there.

Vents that is supposed to pull out rhe smoke dont seem to be running. Smoke gets in your face and your clothes end up smelling so 1 star for atmosphere. 3 stars for food because i like korean barbecue. However the kimchi doesnt taste fermented. Service is ok. Had to frequently remind them of my requests and orders.

Bad service, don’t go here, staff don’t have service mind. Full of empty tables but still told us to wait for almost 1 hour even there’s plenty of empty table. She just doesn’t care customers like us. The other Shila is a lot better. Here’s the worse restaurant I’ve even been.

The food was decent, the customer service wasn't. We came in about an hour before the lunch closing and the restaurant looked closed. We went in and the customer service started out good, then it went downhill. The server started acting a bit rude when we were asking for different meats, but about 20 minutes before closing they started asking us if we wanted the check when we clearly weren't done. We said we needed more time and not even a few minutes later they came back and asked us if we wanted our check. The atmosphere was bland and the service wasn't very good but the food was ok.

Was made to wait to be seated for 30 mins while more than half the tables were empty. Only when I stood up to ask what we were waiting for did they say oh your table is ready and then sat us at a table that was empty since we walked in and was already clean. Also they will bring very little of the nicer meats and a ridiculous amount of the cheaper meats. They’ve recently upped their prices for the second time in as many months and is now for sure not worth the money. One could simply buy way more meat than they give you now at save mart and cook it on your own bbq and have a bunch of meat in their freezer as well.

I come out to the Fresno area for work fairly often I had been looking for a good Korean barbecue place for dinner. I found Shila Korean barbecue a few months back and have been coming here as a go to on work trips since then. The meat is fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. If my review was exclusively, based off of prior experiences, it would be five stars. However, I arrived today for dinner, and they refused me because I did not have two people or more in my party. This has never been an issue before and seems to be some kind of new rule. Unfortunately, as I usually get dinner by myself, it looks like I will no longer be able to eat here. That’s rather sad, as I really enjoyed it previously. Do not bother trying to come to Shila if you don’t have a group.

Familiarize yourself with the marinated meats you are about to cook before you get here. I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews without good reason. Spent $80 before tip for all you can eat for 2. Just like any other all you can eat, you get there hungry! (Duh) The marinated meats were great and the rice was fresh! The place could use remodeling all around. Only complaint is that they turn the fire on the grill up too high which is not necessary. Low/medium heat is preferred to cook thoroughly and sear. Grill grate is swapped often for a clean cooking experience. 3.8 of 5 overall! ??
