First and foremost: There was nothing “wrong” with this restaurant, in fact our server was amazing. We tipped her 25% on principle alone, she was phenomenal. The food was buffet style and basic at best. I had hoped a $90(we had drinks also)brunch for two would be better. I understand those were my expectations. Energy in the restaurant was low, and again, I hoped it would be more lively and delicious. Maybe dinner is a different experience. Try it without expectations and you may just have a great experience.

The Local has officially set the bar for dining in the Central Valley. I’ve visited several times now, and they never fail to impress.
Why it’s a must-visit:
‱ Superior Service: From the moment you walk through the door, you're treated like family. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seems happy to be there. It’s rare to find this level of hospitality where every detail is anticipated before you even have to ask.
‱ The Bread Pudding: You cannot leave without trying this. I’ll go out on a limb and say it is comfortably the best Bread Pudding in the Central Valley. It’s perfectly decadent—warm, rich, and has that ideal balance of texture that most places miss. It is worth the trip alone!
‱ Atmosphere: The vibe is welcoming and polished, making it perfect for both a casual weeknight dinner or a special celebration.
If you’re looking for high-quality food paired with service that actually makes you feel valued, do yourself a favor and head to The Local. Just make sure you save room for dessert!

We just had a birthday recently with 34 people. It was a great atmosphere, food was awesome and the service ,especially Dani, was above great. Thank you Local for giving my husband and friends and family a wonderful time. We will eat there again for sure.

We have eaten there many times. The food is good. We were there with a group of 6 celebrating a birthday. My wife has a severe food allergy which is always clearly disclosed. They mistakenly gave my wife contaminated food. She immediately got sick. Accidents can happen. The part that still bothers me is the lack of customer care and concern. We didn’t finish our meal for obvious reasons. The chef came out and apologized. Nothing was discounted on the bill. We were ok with it because he promised to do a make up meal to make things right. He asked for my number and said he would call in a few days to make arrangements. I thought that was nice. The problem is he NEVER CALLED or made good on his word. This happened a few months ago. We have never gone back. Bad business. Take care of your customers.

Whenever I'm in Clovis I like to come to the Local. Excellent pub food. Great selection of local beer and wine. They also have a huge Bourbon selection with very good pricing on rare high end producers

Somewhat disappointed, the prices are too high for the small quantity of food I ordered and the atmosphere.

Seated right away by friendly staff. Ordered the steak chimichuri with lime rice and cucumber salad. The presentation was nice and I really appreciated the steak knife and wondered where I could buy some. However, the rice was cold although the steak was warm. Something was off because it just wasn't delicious unfortunately. I am not sure if it was just me or if something was off, but it just didn't hit. I kept thinking I could taste fish. Anyway, I would try them again as a second chance because everything else was good.

Service during this visit was very disappointing. My wife and I came in to celebrate our anniversary with dessert and drinks, but it took 17 minutes before our server acknowledged us (I timed it), despite her checking on three other tables multiple times during our stay. In the 45 minutes we were there, we only saw our server once. The food itself was excellent—especially the bread pudding—but the lack of service overshadowed the experience. Unfortunately, this may be my last visit.

This is on service only. We did not stay to eat. We walked in, there is no obvious place to check in. We meandered thru, made eye contact with four employees, not one acknowledged us. Went back up front, got the attention of the person behind the bar. Seemed as though she was bothered by us. We left and had a fantastic meal and drinks down the street. Won't waste our time there again.
