I came to Island Breeze hopeful that I would enjoy because I’ve heard good things about. I came from about 15 mins away and made the drive because my usual place hadn’t finished cooking yet. I ordered an oxtail plate and was so disappointed. The portions aren’t enough in my opinion for $30 and my oxtail had so much fat and hardly any meat, the flavor wasn’t bad but I’ve had better. I could have enjoyed if I’d had any actual meat on the bones. Rice and peas were cool but more would have been better for the price. Overall I won’t be returning. Although Jamaican restaurants are far and few in between, there are better places in the IE

The jerk chicken was out of this world. Best I had in a long time. The spice wasn’t over powering like a lot of places but it was still there to make the every bite unbelievable. The char on the chicken was just right where every bite of the skin was a crunch. The plantains were made to perfection along with the rice.

This was our first time at Island Breeze. We had no idea that the portions would be so massive. I'm a big eater and even I couldn't finish my food. The Saltfish was new to me and it was an outstanding dish. I tried the chicken curry patty and was pleasantly surprised. My daughter wanted the jerk chicken. We had no idea it would be a whole half a chicken 🤣🤣 but hey no complaints here! The oxtails, I love oxtails! We were amazed by the amount of oxtails not to mention the size. THANK YOU for not skimping like so many other places. We had so much food to take home that it fed an additional 2 people AND we still have leftovers 🤣🤣. By the time we finish the leftovers, it'll be time for us to make another visit.

Was excited to try this spot based on the reviews, but it didn’t fully live up to the hype.

Customer service and atmosphere were good.

Oxtail bowl had great flavor, but only came with two pieces—one mostly fat.

Tried the curry chicken and the beef patty—honestly, the beef patty was better in my opinion.

Unfortunately wasn’t feeling the Jamaican cake.

I might give it another shot and try different items next time—maybe the jerk chicken.

Out a 10, I rate this Jamaican restaurant a 6 I ordered jersey chicken and a oxtail dinners. I paid around $56.00. The jersey chicken was oven baked and the sauce was watery. The oxtail sauce was also watery and not very tasty. However two meat were tender. I ordered the food to go. I asked for pepper sauce. I was told to purchase a bottle for $4.00. I did not want a hole bottle. The worker refused to allow me to pour pepper sauce on my food to go...regardless of the moneyspent.....how greedy. Not cool

Several people recommended this place, but I am unsure if I agree with the hype. I loved the veggies and plantains, but the rest left much to be desired. The place stayed busy, so kudos to them for the amount of repeat business they get.
