The food, service and ambiance were very homey. Not setup like an old school family run Italian restaurant with red & white checkered tablecloths more akin to a sports bar. Nevertheless the food and caring service was gentile and warm which accompanied the delicious ample portions of their food. I can hardly wait to go back.

What a delightful find! Following a Yelp search, we agreed upon Il Saggio in Commerce as a convenient location to meet with friends. With favorable reviews, we expected a decent meal. None of our party of four was disappointed. We arrived at 2:00PM, hoping that the lunch crowd had diminished. We found we had the restaurant to ourselves, watching as the last of the noon-time feasters returned to their jobs. Our service was hospitable and entertaining. We learned this was a family run business, with everyone chipping in. As preparations were being made for a large party later in the day, we selected our meals. The staff happily offered to adapt our dishes or prepare items off menu if the ingredients were on hand. When the food arrived, the table went quiet as we all dug in. There was not one complaint amongst us. We all agreed everything was delicious; house made bread, sauces, the total meal was authentically fresh and well prepared. There is a happy vibe in this place, that of people loving what they do, and sharing it with whoever is lucky enough to walk through their doors.

Was headed out of LA to San Diego while on vacation and the kids were getting hungry. They can be picky so we searched for pizza and ended up here. They had plenty of other options - I had the soup special (clam chowder) - and a good selection of beers that came in a properly frosted mug. Service was warm and friendly and accompanied by a robot that the kids were entertained by. Prices were reasonable and overall a very good experience.

Our Basketball organization had a team practice at a league that was near by. We were ready to chow down for an early dinner. None of us were from the area but found this restaurant that was able to accommodate 26 people. The service was friendly and took care of our needs. Every dish and pizza was delicious that we all left empty plates behind. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back.
