I came to pick up a cake I had ordered and the customer service was horrible. I gave her my receipt and she just walked away like nothing did not say a single word at all. I then get my cake and it was ordered tres leches so you would assume they put aluminum or properly made the cake so it wouldn’t be spilling but they didn’t not only did they give me a cake that was spilling but they did not give me a proper box just the bottom. When I ask the cashier if she had the top of the box she said “no” with the utmost ignorance ever. Mind you I never leave reviews because I’m not that type of person. The cake was poorly done as well.

Best pan dulce in town. And there tortas are really good also. Prices are outrages tho. Too expensive.

I have been coming here since I was a child. 40 years later and all though, the workers have changed, the recipes really haven't. The bread is usually fresh, depending on the time you come in. The prices have gone up, the good old days when sweet bread was $0.10 - $0.25 and bolillo that was 4 for a dollar (5 on sale). Although the prices have changed with the times, I'm happy most of the bread tastes similar. I would suggest trying them out.

When asked why they charge a debit card they got upset... Debit Cards:
Debit card transactions are treated differently under California law. Unlike credit cards, debit cards are directly linked to a customer's bank account, and there is no risk of the merchant not being paid. Therefore, there is no legal prohibition against charging a debit card in California, or for that matter, imposing a discount for paying with debit card.
Consumer Protection:
The purpose of California's new law is to protect consumers from hidden fees and deceptive pricing practices, ensuring transparency in pricing.

Yes, you can sue a business in California for improperly charging you an extra fee (surcharge) on your debit card. California law prohibits businesses from adding surcharges for using credit or debit cards. You can pursue legal action, potentially including filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office or suing in Small Claims Court.
Elaboration:
Credit Card Surcharges:
California law (Civil Code section 1748.1) prohibits merchants from adding surcharges (extra fees) when customers pay with a credit card instead of cash.
Debits Cards:
Surcharging is also prohibited for debit cards, even when used like a credit card.
Disputing Charges:
If you believe a merchant has improperly charged you, you should first try to resolve the issue directly with the business.
Legal Action:
If you cannot resolve the dispute with the merchant, you can file a complaint with the California Attorney General's Office or consider pursuing legal action in Small Claims Court.
Penalties:
Overcharging can result in penalties for the business, ranging from administrative fines to criminal charges, depending on the amount of the overcharge.

I always eat my bread here, it is the best flavor of bread for my palate and it is soft, it is a little expensive but the flavor is good.
Been coming here for 16 years
The flavor has never changed, they have ham cakes like the ones from El Chavo de El 8 with jalapeño, tamales, desserts, bolillo, telera cakes and all kinds of bread.
Mexican drinks Mexican sweet juices really very good it just doesn't have much parking you have to wait for people to come out

Parking: The bread is very delicious and the owner is very cool.

The bread is really very expensive. I asked the lady who charges what they should set the prices since everything is expensive right now. Their response was that they never put them in, which is not a requirement of the city.

The bread is delicious. But definitely overpriced they are taking advantage of the community $1.75 to$3 per piece of bread, I hope they are paying the bakers a good salary. Bread is good service could be better the cashiers look unhappy and bitter definitely not welcoming they could do better with prices.

Went to buy bread, got 19 pieces & $3 of bolillos. The lady told me total was $42.50. Didn't think much of it until I got home. I was like damn I got over 40 pieces . Nope bread is probably over $2 each but no prices are posted. Never coming here again. Parking sucks but I'm not that desperate for bread. I'd rather go to portos.
