People were waiting outside to get into the Chinese dumpling restaurant in the same location. It's a pity. They really should skip that line and give this new Korean cafe a chance instead. We walked in, no wait, practically next door. Da Rae opened a mere 3 months ago, but they already have one other location in Orange County, so it's not exactly a new, still bumbling operation. You're missing out, my friends! The menu is a real adventure. Its almost overwhelming how many interesting, authentic Korean dishes they offer, but on our first visit, we already knew what we intended to get, the beef short rib soup, and it was very good. A large bowl of beef broth, clear noodles, boiled radish, and two very meaty, tender beef ribs. If I had one wish , the broth really could have used a light salting. The broth was slightly thinner and under seasoned than what I have had elsewhere. The very tender beef, however, dipped in their salty, vinegary, gingery (?) sauce made a whole lot of difference. I could have used more of that dipping sauce. Even better were all the other foods they brought to our table that we didn't order. For instance, the delightful scallion pancake, the refillable bowls of the wonderful ban chan (7 in total), the hot tea, and the little chaser of slightly sweet, ginger beverage at the end. Our experience was a success, with the scales ultimately tipped by the delightful lady who took care of us. She frequently checked to make sure we were OK, brought us more yummy ban chan, and bagged everything we wanted to bring home. The oyster tofu soup and huge, crispy pork cutlet appetizer is what brought us in the very next day, with an equally happy outcome. I am already desperately longing for more of the dipping sauce that comes with the cutlet...a tangy, exotic flavored ketchup sauce. It is irresistable It's a very good sign to see that 95% (ok, I made that number up) of their patrons are of Korean decent. The portions are big, the prices are not as steep as a competing Korean restaurant in another part of town, and the vibes are warm, happy, and welcoming. Ask for some soy sauce if you are like me, and hint about a sample of the ginger drink at the end, if they forget. This is a good place for a delightful, out of the ordinary meal. We will be bringing the whole family next time.

Haven't had much Korean food in my life. Gave this place a try.... Peeked at the menu they had taped up on window before entering. Glad they had images of their dishes along with descriptions in Korean and English. Ordered their version of bulgogi lettuce wraps. This meal ended up being a a five course meal! Everything was so tasty. Really enjoyed their Miso soup. The service was superb too. I asked if they have WiFi and this sweet women who was cooking and serving just grabbed my hand and walked me over to a little sign by the cash register and pointed at the password

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!!! I got #45 which is boiled pork bo-ssam jungsik, and they kept bringing out more food. They brought out pajeon as an appetizer and they had 7 banchans! They also brought out soybean paste stew with rice and all this was for $25. Every side dishes were very good and I loved the red raddish that came with the bossam. I couldn't finish it all, but it was so good. Everyone was nice too.Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu

The most motherly customer service I’ve ever had in any restaurant. Period. The servers serve me like I was a child of their own, topped off my water and banchan, cracking an egg in my sunjubu etc. As for the food, it goes blow for blow with Jinhan in Mckinley, but Da Rae has a mother’s touch that I prefer, plus they have Tteokkbokki which Jinhan doesn’t carry!Unparalleled experience, has slowly become my post-work meal spot.

Finally, we had a chance to try out this Korean place. This is my new favorite Korean restaurant. We love the food and service. We've tried the Octopus bibimbap and oyster tofu soup. Both were delicious. I also love their side dishes, especially onion pancake. They also served alkaline water and cooks with it, which is a plus. The only bothersome to me is the strong cleaning odor of "fabulouso" floor cleaner they use. It is super strong that takes away the food aroma. I almost changed my mind coming in when greeted with such a strong odor. Please change your floor cleaner. Thank you

If you're looking for yummy Korean food in the area, definitely give this place a try! I ordered the bulgogi and mushroom tofu soup combo. It was super yummy! And can't forget the banchan of course! Service was great--very friendly and welcoming! And the place was very clean. Looking forward to going back soon for another delicious meal!

We had the #51 Grilled Atka Mackerel and #45 Boiled Pork Ssambap. Both dishes came with Soybean Paste Soup. They gave us each our own dish of water-kimchi, as well as a shared set of 7 side dishes. Both dishes were delicious and authentic (we just came back from Seoul two months ago) and the servers were attentive and seemed excited to work there. The prices seem kind of high but you get a ton of food. We will definitely go there again, and bring some friends next time.
