I stopped by to grab some takeout and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and full of energy. Even though I wasn’t dining in, the staff treated me like a valued guest. The service was prompt, friendly, and organized, which made for a smooth pickup experience.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the vibe. For the prices, I expected something more flavorful and memorable. Everything looked good and was neatly packaged, but the taste was underwhelming. My carne asada lacked the bold flavor you’d hope for, and the sides felt like an afterthought. It wasn’t bad by any means—it just didn’t live up to the price tag or the impression the place gives off.

All in all, the service and atmosphere were spot-on, but the takeout food was pretty mid. I might give it another try for dine-in, but based on this experience, I was left wanting more.

We were here Sun the 29th, the young waitress got in an argument with our elderly grandma and even escalated the issue with the so called manager that gave us an attitude as well ... I dont think its right to be rude to customers specially an elder

The food was great but the service needs help. We just ordered 2 ceviches and 2 tacos and took 30 minutes to get our food. Our waitress left on break soon after we got our food without notifying us or getting coverage. We had to go to the bar counter to ask for service twice.

Everything was amazing, from the food to the ambiance. Excellent service, waitress was bilingual & friendly, food is a bit expensive but definitely worth it. Everything was fresh, even the agua fresca was delicious, it's freshly made there & it's not overly sweet, definitely must try the Tropicana, I'd also recommend this place to anybody.

I found the meal to be quite enjoyable. I had a seafood cocktail that consisted of shrimp, octopus, and abalone. It was a flavorful dish with fresh vegetables. I also had some sushi. Any hibiscus, water

Have been here a couple of times in the past and always come for the Tropicana plate and micheladas. The flavor was all still there but this last time was disappointing. Our plate was 98% veggies and hardly any shrimp/octopus. Also their micheladas are now served in smaller cups. For the price of the menu items you would they think they could also afford to turn on the AC. It was disgusting in there, they only had the fans on.

This place never turns on their a/c. It's nasty to eat seafood when it's hotter inside than it is outside

It's so hot here. We live in the area and every time we come in the summer it's just as hot inside as outside. The have two fans on but you can immediately tell the air conditioner is off. It's very uncomfortable eating seafood in a hot restaurant. You would think making their customers comfortable would be the priority of the restaurant. If you are the owner please stop being so stingy with the AC.
