Recent Reviews

This place is special. We drive 20 minutes to come in, although many good restaurants are within 5 minutes of our home. The Jalapeño Cream Soup is the perfect blend of heat, sweet, and creamy goodness, and I have never seen it served anywhere else. We have noticed also, that the quality of the food, as well as the friendly, prompt service, is consistently good. We hope that Maiz Cocina continues to thrive and grow.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. Even though it was crowded, we were seated right away because there was room on their patio that was kept warm with space heaters. I ordered the only item on their vegetarian menu that is likely vegan: avocado tacos. It was delicious. Unfortunately, only white rice was available with it. A few other items could possibly be made vegan by excluding sour cream or queso fresco. But the staff seemed unaware of the distinction between vegan...

My friends brought me here for my birthday and it was such a pleasant experience. The food was incredible. The Chilean Sea Bass was so insanely well prepared. Every element on the plate was cooked with care, with ingredients that married extremely well together, and plated beautifully. It’s so rare to find a place that can cook seafood well, and they nailed the sea bass, it was moist and glistening inside, cooked to perfection. I felt like I was in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant...
