They make a perfect pizza great service a little pricey, but it’s worth it!

I haven't been to California in over a decade, and I still think about this pizza. Extra sauce, extra cheese, extra pepperoni, cooked well done. I'll see you again someday.

About $22 for a 14" 8 slice pizza. Not a bad pie, maybe too much cheese but the sauce and dough is pretty good.

If you haven't met Al, you're missing out on one of Costa Mesa's true hidden gems!! For over 30 years, Al's New York Cafe has been serving up the kind of food that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon something special, and it’s clear why this place has such a loyal following!

Al's is where you go when you're craving that perfect slice of New York-style pizza. My pick: the NYC Special, piled high with sausage and pepperoni… just like you'd expect from a classic New York pizzeria, but right here in OC.

But it doesn’t stop at pizza. The deli sandwiches are a standout too. Their classic pastrami is piled so high, you'll wonder how you’re going to take the first bite (hint: just dive in and don’t worry about it).

Also, LOVE that they offer pizza by-the-slice options, perfect for those days when you just need a quick fix!

Al's is truly the kind of place where you walk in as a customer but leave feeling like a regular. This place is superb!!!

Not sure if they changed their cheese or something. Last two visits, there is way too much cheese on the pizza. The layer of cheese is 3 X thicker than the bottom crust; making the crust soggy and not crispy as it is supposed to be. If you'd had this in the past, you'll understand. It's unfoldable now. Food is supposed to balance out the ingredients but you can have too much of a good thing

I recently had the pleasure of discovering the best New York-style pizza in Southern California, and it truly took me back to the iconic pizzerias of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

From the moment I walked into the pizzeria, the atmosphere felt authentic, with the aroma of freshly baked pizza and the sight of enormous, thin-crust pies. The first bite confirmed it: this was the real deal. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness, reminiscent of those unforgettable slices from NYC.

If you're craving a slice of New York, this pizzeria is a must-visit. It’s a delicious reminder that great pizza isn’t confined to the East Coast.
