Ordered food here on DoorDash for pickup, not a single soul in the restaurant and the ladies at the counter 21 questioned me about the order before releasing it to me. Thought it was super odd and absurd. I’ve ordered way more expensive food without anything like this

When I visited, the place was buzzing with Chinese grandmas and grandpas enjoying the dim sum deals, which I took as a very good sign! I ordered the fish congee: generous portion, rich flavour, and super filling. I have to say it’s a steep price for what’s traditionally a humble, comfort-food breakfast. However, a good experience overall.

Casual classic Asian noodle house with delicious dim sum. We can't get enough of the garlic green beans or bok choy. Whether we get stirfry or soup the noodles are always long and delicious. #PureFlavor

Outstanding Dining Experience at Capital Noodle Bar - A True Costa Mesa Gem
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Capital Noodle Bar on Bristol Street in Costa Mesa, and I can confidently say it was one of the most exceptional restaurant experiences I've had in Orange County. From the moment we walked through the doors, everything about our visit exceeded expectations.
The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern sophistication and comfortable warmth. The sleek interior design creates an inviting space that feels both upscale and approachable, making it ideal for everything from casual dinners to special celebrations. The open kitchen concept adds an exciting energy to the dining room, allowing guests to witness the culinary artistry in action.
What truly sets Capital Noodle Bar apart, however, is their incredible staff. Every team member we encountered demonstrated genuine enthusiasm and professionalism that made our evening memorable. Our server Celeste was absolutely phenomenal - she possessed an impressive knowledge of the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences, and maintained the perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. Celeste's warm personality and exceptional service skills transformed what could have been just another dinner into a truly special experience. Her ability to anticipate our needs and ensure every detail was perfect showcased the high standards this establishment maintains.
The food quality is simply outstanding. Each dish that arrived at our table was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic flavors. The noodles were cooked to absolute perfection - achieving that ideal texture that's neither too soft nor too firm. The broth in the ramen dishes was rich and complex, clearly the result of hours of careful preparation. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the ingredient quality is evident in every bite.
The attention to detail extends beyond just the food and service. The timing between courses was impeccable, our water glasses never sat empty, and the overall coordination of the dining experience felt seamless. It's clear that the management has created a culture of excellence that permeates every aspect of the operation.
Capital Noodle Bar has earned a permanent spot on our list of favorite local restaurants. The combination of exceptional food, outstanding service - particularly from Celeste and the entire team - and inviting atmosphere makes this a destination worth visiting again and again. Whether you're a Costa Mesa local or just visiting the area, this restaurant deserves a spot at the top of your must-try list.

We love this place. Great service, I haven’t gotten an order that I didn’t like. We go there at least once a week.
We ordered their new lobster item. I must say it was pretty good. Thank you Celeste for suggesting it and the great service. I added some pictures of the lobster and other items we like to order.
We did have leftovers as they are large portions.
This place works as a team. I see them all working all tables from hosting to delivering food, refilling drinks and such. You will definitely leave happy.

- the service was good! The server was attentive and polite but the food is not enough to convince me to comeback.

Tried to serve us two different bowls that had raw wontons. Cooks apparently aren't paying attention to how long they are cooking the wontons.

Review: Singapore Noodles with Shrimp
I was pretty excited when this colorful plate of Singapore noodles hit the table—it looked like a spicy tangle of golden goodness. The vibrant yellow hue hinted at curry powder, and it didn’t disappoint. The flavor was bold, slightly smoky, and just spicy enough to keep things interesting without overwhelming the dish.
The shrimp were generously sized and cooked perfectly—tender with a nice sear. The noodles were well-stir-fried, not greasy, and had that satisfying springy texture. Bean sprouts added a fresh crunch and balanced out the richness, while slices of red bell pepper gave a nice pop of sweetness.
Presentation-wise, it came on a funky plate with Asian calligraphy that added a bit of flair. Portion size? Massive—definitely enough to take some home for later.
Overall, this dish was a winner. If you’re craving something savory, spicy, and loaded with texture, it hits all the right notes.
4.5/5 stars — lose the slightly dry egg bits and it’s perfection.
