This place gives first-rate service as well as delightful menu. The best restaurant around town. The food and drinks served quick and the rates were economical. Highly recommended.

The sushi from the grocery store is awesome! Lots of variety. Fresh and delicious! Pick up their sticky rice bag to cook from Japan; rice cookers are really inexpensive. Chopsticks, greentea as well. Healthy eating here. I have a cook book and make some excellent Japanese meals!

Daikichi's grab-and-go grocery store sushi, considering the taste for value, is actually quite good. They have a decent selection of maki zushi, nigiri zushi, and chirashi zushi. I found them all fresher and better assembled at the Costa Mesa Mitsuwa than at other branches, so props to them for not leaving raw fish to decompose at room temperature for days. This is clearly not an immaculate, Michelin-starred dining experience. However, for a $8 tray of 8-10 pieces, I'd rather buy from here than from Whole Foods or similarly overpriced organic coop, where the sushi has been chilled to the point of crystallization. On most days, they will be sold out by 6:00. I try not to let this ruin me, as the sushi isn't so outstanding that it's worth cutting out of work early.

Better quality sushi than Sushi Boy or other "fast food" sushi places out there. Great variety, too.
