They over charged me like 40 dollars . I called them and they were not helpful, they didn’t refunded the money, not coming back. They also charge for things you don’t even order. They charged me the tip twice 36.x2 total of $72 .00 plus 3.99 chips and salsa I didn’t order. Watch your receipt before you pay. Food was ok. I gave one star review because I called talked to two different people in the restaurant and they said the manager was going to call me back the next day and he didn’t , just lost my time trying to communicate to get my refund back.

Great food. Would recommend the crispy carnitas skillet. The kids meals came and they were very large. Environment was very clean. Very large menu for both food and drinks.

Food was excellent. Flavorful and a unique spin on classic dishes. I had a quesadilla which was amazing. The cheese used was super tasty and the carnitas were juicy and flavorful. The salsa and guac were fresh and tasty too.

Descanso Restaurant came highly recommended by my friends, and I'm thrilled to say it lived up to the hype! Our visit was an absolute blast from start to finish. The service was impeccable, the menu offerings were diverse and enticing, and the atmosphere was lively and festive. Here's what we indulged in:Appetizers:We started with the tantalizing combination of Chips, Salsa, and Chicharróns, setting the tone for an exciting culinary adventure. The Ceviche El Tigre was a standout, featuring Wild Caught Striped Bass, Lime, Leche de Tigre, Pomegranate, Avocado, Cucumber, Red Onion, Fresno Chile, and Blue Corn Chips.Kids Menu:For the little ones, the Quesadilla with Chicken or Steak was a hit, offering a delicious and satisfying option.Plancha Dinner Menu:We began our main course experience with either the flavorful Fideo Soup or a classic Caesar Salad. The Mexican Fried Rice stole the show, especially when paired with the creamy sauce. It was an absolute must-try!The Pork Loin Alambre was a symphony of flavors, featuring Center Cut Pork Loin with an 'Al Pastor' Marinade, Bell Peppers, Onions, Tres Quesos,Avocado Toreado Salsa, Cebollita Onions, Cilantro, and Serrano Chiles. The Ribeye Steak was cooked to perfection, served with Fingerling Potatoes, Charred Cebollita Onions, Grilled Serrano Chiles, Avocado Toreado Salsa, Morita Chile Aioli, and Cotija. To cap off the evening, we celebrated with a fiery birthday dessert of Cinnamon Sugar Chips and Vanilla Ice Cream, adding a sweet finale to our memorable dining experience.I wholeheartedly recommend Descanso Restaurant to anyone seeking a unique and delightful Mexican Teppanyaki experience. I'm already looking forward to returning for brunch and Taco Tuesday - this place is truly one of a kind!

This is becoming one of my favorite restaurants. Tonight we sat in the bar. Miguel was our server and is exceptional. It is OC restaurant week and they had a date night menu for this evening that was simply amazing! I have posted a photo of our 3 course meal. The chicharrones and chips and appetizer taquitos were the perfect start, for the main course the lobster tail was sweet and delicious and the steak was perfectly between medium and medium rare as we requested. After the delicious ample portions we were greeted with a s'mores cake and also flan. It was definitely easier to sit down at the bar than it was to get up on our way out. It was quite a meal. Descanso did restaurant week right with this incredible 3 course pairing! Well done once again!

I knew i wasn't impressed the first time I came here but my friend wanted to try it so I decided to give it another shot. I really don't know why this place just doesn't do it for me. We sat at the bar and our waiter/bartender was not friendly and looked like he was having a bad day. So that made this experience even worse. The chips and salsa were definitely not great, didn't even want to eat any of it. I had the Volcano tacos and potatoes on the side. It was lacking flavor for sure and it just wasn't that great. This is definitely going to be my last time for sure. I guess you have to go to the Plancha tables to have a better experience? I have no idea.

*Ratings are for the Plancha dining experience* A solid 3/5. Food was okay, service was meh. The best part was the fried rice lol. General consensus is we wouldn't be coming back.

It isn't really fair to review a restaurant during restaurant week. It seems no matter where I dine in California during restaurant weeks the front of the house is full and chronically understaffed. The place was packed. The drinks took forever and dessert was forgotten (they boxed it up for us). Service lapses aside, the staff was very friendly. The food is out of this world. We all had lobster enchiladas. Generous lobster. Sublime sauce. The starter salads were tasty with pepitas and lime. The flan also was very good. Look forward to returning when it isn't restaurant week. The place was packed with very happy customers. The live guitar was great but our table was amp adjacent so impossible to talk. I'm sure there is an easy fix.

We didn't get a chance to experience la plancha but we had a good time at the restaurant. Our server Jillian was absolutely amazing. She is very kind and professional. The food was so good. We had chicken taquitos, hangar steak, and Felipe tacos. Everything was delicious and flavorful.
