Ah, this spot is a nice little green oasis in the concrete jungle of Orange County. Great spot to relax and sit amongst the tendrils of vines. They even have some neat art books to peruse on shelves next to the bathroom. As for food, hubs and I split a pho banh mi, French dip style + some egg rolls. He got a Vietnamese iced coffee and I had the iced jasmine tea. All delicious, all decently priced. Good spot to go to without having to go to Westminster. I'm always finding fusion restaurants dubious, but this one did a great job of honoring Vietnamese food while making subtle twists.

Surprisingly delicious baguette sandwich eaten French style. It's big enough for two hungry people unless you're super hungry. My husband and I shared Chicken Curry Baguette. It's a French dip style sandwich, curried chicken, potatoes, carrots, cilantro, onions, jalapeño, aioli and the delicious curry dip. Delicious!

Went yesterday to check this place out. Ordered Bahn Mi with Dip. The dip was not pleasant tasting. I assumed it was Pho broth. It was not. The second item was Chicken curry and it was superb! Perfect balance of coconut, lemongrass and curry that did not overwhelm. A beautiful marriage! Also ordered papaya salad and spicy mango salad. Papaya lacked flavor of any kind: sour, salty, spicy. Bland. Mango was however tasty, fresh and zesty. It complimented both the bahn mi and the curry. Need to work on the papaya salad though. Fir drinks we ordered a herbal lemonade? and Vietnamese coffee. Very good especially the coffee had none of that cigarette butt burnt aftertaste which I hate! It tasted like the old style Vietnamese drip coffee, fine and smooth. The packaging should be noted and complimented. All the dishware were paper except for the drinks which were plastic. Even the lids were paper! Thank you for being eco-conscious! The ambience is outdoorsy with plants and trees providing shade and some degree of privacy. Felt like a little oasis in a commercial complex called the Campus which has various businesses like fitness center, clothing stores and other eateries. My ONLY issue is with parking. We tried in vain to find space but after going around twice, decided to leave the car with a valet service which charged flat $7. People in their cars were blocking the lanes hoping for someone to leave. One asked if we were leaving and told them "Valet". Not worth wasting time to save $7 when most seemed to afford fancy cars! Yeah, parking. That would be the only deterrent to comeback, to save $7 for parking.

East Borough is a cute lil Vietnamese restaurant that offers Bahn Mi Sandwiches and Rice bowls with an American fusion. They are located in The Camp plaza of Costa Mesa, OC.I came to grab a lunch. Their outdoor was very chill as well as their indoor. However, both have limited seating! I was perfunctorily greeted by a cute female staff. I perused their menus and decided to get a Chicken rice bowl (bokchoy, a hard boiled egg, jasmine rice and citrus vinaigrette) and Jasmine Like Green Tea.Food taste good and flavorful. Drink was refreshing and citrus. Service was on point. Staff were professional. Prices were modest and affordable. Free Wifi. Atmosphere was relaxing. Overall, I recommend this spot.

Came here yesterday cause I was craving Spring Rolls and sandwiches and I've been wanting to try this place.I was surprised by how much The Camp has changed. First off this restaurant has moved from it's OG spot by the parking lot (now a boba place) to where Taco Asylum used to be (next to Vitaly cafe)Was disappointed they didn't have spring rolls (they only have those on Fridays & weekends), but they have a nice menu with some tasty options and a wide variety of beverages. (See photo)Customer service was really great & helpful. I opted on the Banh Mi sandwhich with pork. First the things I liked:The bread was fresh and had a nice crunch.Cons: I feel like they overcompensated the ratio of pork to daikon & carrot. The pork was good, but I've definitely had better-more tender. Also, I noted that the sandwich was a lil on the dry side.I think I'll come back next time I'm in the area and try their peanut noodles, or on a Friday so I can get some Spring rolls.

My beef vermicelli was really good, the portion was big. It’s missing the authentic flavor but still very good. I would come back here again.

Just wanna give some constructive feedback. The food was extremely salty, and had no other flavor aside from salt.

We've come here several times, it seems like they've recently increased prices (bowls are now $14, appetizers are $7, but entree portions seem less filling now). With that said, food is still very delicious and fresh! I love the flavors and texture. They also hired another individual, so now they actually bring food out to you. I just learned that they also have a bathroom on site (communal bathrooms at the Camp require a code). They also serve alcohol. Food tends to be on the spicy side, so our kids had a hard time (with rice bowl we got for them, which wasn't as spicy to begin with).
