Update 06/04/23: I'm sad to update my review, but some change happened at this place, and it's just not the same. The flavors aren't as creative and don't change as often. And the quality has gone downhill. The last two times I've gone, my doughnuts have looked nothing like what they promote on their social media. Barely any toppings and messy. I tried the ube tart, and the crust was raw. This used to be one of my favorite places in OC, but I'm not sure I'll be back.Original review: I tried Fill Bakeshop for the first time on their two year anniversary. I underestimated how popular this place was and ended up waiting in line 1 hour and 20 minutes (I got there 10 minutes before they opened)! But oh were they worth the wait. I lived in Japan for a while so I know a thing or two about mochi doughnuts, and these are spot on! So mochi mochi. The salted potato chip was the best, unfortunately it's not a regular flavor. But I do enjoy watching their Instagram for new flavors (like the pandan one, so good). I would recommend arriving a little bit before they open on the weekends to avoid the line. Parking is also fairly limited, so that's another reason to go early. I love this place and can't believe I waited so long to try it!
YOU HAVE TO TRY THEIR PIE!! It's basically a giant ube egg tart and it is absolutely the best thing there!!
Delicious mochi donuts! I loved the guava cheesecake one ? we came on a Wednesday morning before 10am and there was no line. It’s a small and cute shop so there’s no space for seating so we ate some donuts in the parking lot
Wow I am really amazed by the flavors they have!!! Very different from the traditional flavors but you will love them. The texture is very soft but tender. I recommend the guava cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, and blueberry ones.Plenty of parking.
Fill Bakeshop is known for their beautifully decorated and chewy mochi dough. With mochi donut shops opening up all over Southern California, there is so much competition. However, I haven't seen any mochi donuts that have the unique flavors that Fill Bakeshop pushes out. Another unique factor is their Mochi Cookies!Circus Animal Cookie? Melona Bar? Kona Coffee? CNY Mandarin? Smores... with a whole scorched marshmallow in the center? The flavors are so innovative and creative. My visit, I came to try the Circus Animal Cookie! A childhood staple. I love that the donut had sweet icing, but the donut itself had a good flavor to it without giving me a sugar rush. My family was also big fans of the Lychee Calpico, POG, and the Guava Cheesecake!
I'm sure this place is always busy, however, my sister & cousin & I decided this would be the place to go for National Donut day. Boy were we wrong. The line was out the door & we waited an hour & a half. However, it was well worth the wait. Meanwhile, the other donut stand across the street looked so empty :(We overestimated ourselves by ordering two dozen donuts for 2 adults & 1 pregnant lady. This was our first experience with mochi style donuts & it was a good one. These donuts are made fresh with each order, LITERALLY, when we got into the car we could smell the donuts & I could feel the warmth from the box.Two ways to eat these delicious fluff balls: fresh or later. If you eat it fresh, it literally taste like a funnel cake fresh from the state fair. It's heavy since it's also deep fried. & due to the flavor toppings, they can taste sweeter than if you were to enjoy them later.Personally, it is because of those reasons I prefer to wait a couple hours before endulging in these pastries. Nonetheless, you should try these things before they run out for the day.My favorite flavor? Oh yes, it's the milk & cereal one.
Who loves mochi donut for a new day?Highlights of the menu:Mochi Donuts:1. Rose all day2. Cookies & cream3. Matcha4. Guava cheesecakeMochi Cookies:5. Sea salt chocolate chips6. Ube snickerdoodle7. Red velvet redMochi donuts are the best! This is my new addiction next to boba now. The chewiness and the crunchiness combined with all the good flavors make this desserts so good. The cookies are also mochi cookies because they are chewy like the donuts too. Yummyy!!
Delicious donuts, and really quick service for how busy it was. Always love their selection of flavors. The coffee was pretty disappointing though. Will certainly be back, but will be sticking to donuts.
The first place I ever tried mochi donuts and probably will always be my favorite. Having gone to other places and bakeries that have attempted their take, I either find them too greasy or just underwhelming. And I like the unique flavors Fill offers every now and then.
Cashier was very sweet! Love the exotic flavor of Guava cream cheese & Taro which is very Hawaiian! If you want to try something different I would check this place out and decide for yourself. As for me I'm a huge fan!

Their mochi donuts are really really good. I love the shape they make them, the donut is kind of bulbous and breaks into gratifying mouth-filling bite sized pieces. Definitely try a few flavors so you can find what you like - the flavors might not be 100% what you imagine if you're not used to mochi but that's not to say it's not good!
Quick and easy! We got 2 Mochi Donuts and an Iced Coffee, ate them at our car. It's a small shop with no tables, even before COVID. You can order online & pickup at the store.
Best Mochi Donuts I’ve tried. I’ve only done online pickup but the employees I have encountered are always so nice! Parking here can be a bit difficult but so worth it.
Yummy machine doughnuts and cookies. Very unique.
Mochi + Donut = chewy texture with a warm sweet aroma. Fill bakeshop is worth a visit to pick up a dozen mochi donuts or mochi cookies they serve. The donuts are pretty to look at and can fulfill your sweet tooth as the donuts a fairly sweet. The peach lemonade they serve was a bit too sweet as well. The mochi cookies were worth a try as the Ube cookie I ordered wasn't too sweet and the texture had a nice crisp bite with a soft gooey chew in the center. You'll want milk when visiting this shop so balance out the sweetness of the desserts.
