Excellent everything. Rouladen is outstanding and the gravy. I feel like I’m in Germany. German Beer I love. They have marzapone and other top shelf chocolates. You feel like you are in a Gasthaus with all the locals.

It’s a big bummer how you hope the place would blow you out of the water when you see such glowing reviews, especially when you plan your day to drive from south county to give the deli a try. The family and I were hoping that we'd be able to try their reuben that was one of their fortes. If you have the chance, look at some of the other lower reviews where they talked about the lack of warmth and inviting vibes the deli has was spot on. Cold and devoid. We arrived there a few minutes after 4 o clock, and this older gentleman behind the counter dismissively said that the kitchen closes at 4pm with no additional follow up. Weird, but okay. One thing we both noticed was we got looked up and down by this person like we were getting measured up. Huh. After leaving that lackluster conversation with this gentleman, I asked my wife afterwards if we got refused because of race and she said she got a weird vibe from this poor interaction. Check. We both agreed that with this poor interaction, even if the food were good, we won't bother trying ever again. Hope this review helps the rest of you!

What a gem that I stumbled upon. The food, the service, was top notch. I felt like I was in someone’s home. If ever in the area, you don't want to miss this place. If I had to pick one dish…chicken schnitzel, however the sauerkraut and cabbage dishes were delicious. Side note: besides beer they serve wine

Just had the Schnitzel strips at their Oktoberfest event... And they were to die for!
The schnitzel was off the chart!!! And the sausage was amazing! Makes my mouth water just thinking about how delicious this place is! Highly recommend this German hideaway.

Live in Costa Mesa and been going here for years. Used to recommend it to anyone coming into Costa Mesa as the food was amazing, and old owner Jason and Megan were fantastic and always made you feel at home. It changed hands about a year ago and as others mentioned the atmosphere is completely different, with the new owner giving the vibe of not wanting you there, especially if you don’t look a certain way. The other negative reviews here and on yelp are spot on so check them out yourself before you decide.

Anyway, I’ve been coming to globe for years. Quality food at a fair price. It’s a small business and they create a homey feel here. Can’t go wrong with the brat and German potato salad and don’t forget to finish it off with an underberg.
