A hole in the wall place in Costa Mesa. Under previous ownership, food was great. Sean the new owner has done a great job of continuing same quality experience and food. We do not live local, so when we have the time, we make a special trip for lunch on Saturdays. Our favorites are the beef dip and the turkey Reuben. The beers on tap are always good. Always a good meal and friendly people.

Fabulous shop for Beers, treats such as chocolate, gummy bears cookies, etc. etc. I have enjoyed their Buckhurst or Nuremberg on Baguette with homemade potato salad. A current fave is fine liverwurst with Swiss cheese to go (add fig jam) for my gluten free menu. (I heard it’s called “Jenny’s Special). . Shoppe: Going back to my Bavarian roots. Under new management, which is still in the same family, excellent quality menu, friendly staff…No rushing , come relax and enjoy a pint. Been going here for over 10 years and the food is great but went yesterday afternoon with my younger sister and was met with poor service and what seemed like a racist confrontation with the new owner. First, no greeting when we walked in just an employee looking surprised to see us. Spent about $50 on sandwiches and brats and when going to pay, I had a $3 gift card balance which I had received from their employee Meagan on a previous visit where they forgot about our food. So I just wanted to use the remaining $3 balance and I paid the rest with my credit card. So then the owner examines the gift card and starts asking me where I got the gift card from, and when I explained where I got it, the owner mumbled some random comment and quickly took the card to the back and then the employee started questioning my story as if I was lying as to where I got a $3 gift card remaining balance, which by the way was the third time I had been there since the new owner, and my last. He kept claiming I bought their gift card from an auction. The employee seemed to back off as I had to raise my voice and repeat myself again as to the gift card drama. My sister was extremely uncomfortable as soon as we walked in and felt like it was racism, saying we were being targeted with an accusatory tone. This used to be family owned but new owner seems like a financially stressed accountant suspicious for the wrong reasons. And obviously they have no grasp of technology where they could literally look up the record of all gift cards and not accuse customers. Will go back when ownership changes again

Hot meatball sandwich on C'est Si Bon bread is fantastic! Small selection of German draft and bottled beers and interesting gift items. Deli counter and catering services too.

Simply good food. I believe it's still family owned if you're interested in a local place. The buttered pretzel bites (for Superbowl catering) while we were there and that sounded good. I got polish and bratwurst sausages with sauerkraut. They also have jalapeno cheese sausages and a few other spicy options.
Best deli in OC! Not only is the food amazing, the staff is the most friendly! My absolute favorite spot for lunch.

Super high expectations before my first take-out order may have tempered my overall satisfaction. The meatball sandwich was delicious, as were the veggie and pastrami. Only problem was they forgot to add sourkraut to it as ordered, and that was what I wanted most from this German deli. They also forgot to add a side of potato salad that was ordered & paid for as evidenced on our receipt. Unfortunately, we were already home when these omissions were discovered. Maybe just a fluke but 2 missing items on one order of 4 sandwiches seems like more than a fluke.Go for the food, check your order well before departing and enjoy!

I would have eaten until I exploded!!! I had a meatball and a classic Reuben sandwich and wish I had extra stomachs. The food was rich without being heavy and large portions. By far THE BEST MEATBALL sandwich I’ve ever had.Lots of nifty authentic German snacks available to purchase, as well as beer.
