Beef tongue is juicy and tender. Wonderful grill flavor. Volcano porridge is also excellent. Pickles have the right amount of saltiness. A bit pricey compared to other eats in the area but worth it.

Gyutan Tsukasa, just inside Mitsuwa near Daiso, offers delicious charcoal-grilled beef tongue BBQ.
The tongue is tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoky from the grill. The cozy spot pairs great sides like rice and miso, making it ideal for a casual meal. A must-try for beef tongue lovers!
The staff will call your No Order on the receipt.

This is my first visit to Gyutanji in Los Angeles overseas. The taste is similar to Tsukasa-san's in Sendai. It was delicious, but the Sendai one is better, but I think it's more like overseas quality.

I love eating beef tongue when I feel short of energy and need some protein. And when I am too lazy to grill it myself, I go here. The food here is good, flavorful and filling.
The problem? It can take a while to get your order. If you come here, be aware because the guy cooking the tongue has to make alot, and the little pieces of tongue are flipped individually with chopsticks, and they take a while to cook. (Cooking tongue can be quite time consuming) This is slow food, which means it isn't going to take less than 20 minutes to get on average during a busy day at lunchtime.
If you eat here, or order food here, be aware of this fact. As for the food? The grilled tongue is tasty of course, the soup I'd good as well as the rice, curry and the salad is crisp and fresh. Good quality, but like I said, it isn't going to get to you quick so either be patient or go here when you have time to wait.
Kid-friendliness: The soup and rice are what my baby niece loved the most. They aren't too strongly flavored.

This place is located inside the Mitsuwa food court. There are a lot of great options to choose from. I got the gyutan curry which came with soup. It was a large portion at a fair price. The curry was flavorful and the beef tongue was soft. I really enjoyed eating it. The soup was lightly flavored. I would definitely try the other stuff on the menu in the future.

I found a lot of reviews of this restaurant in Chinese social media, so this is the first stop for food during my OC travel. I order 12 pieces and some pieces in the middle parts are very juicy. But marginal parts are a little bit tough. All dishes are salty than normal, which could be a shortcoming. Food comes fast, only 5 mins.

I love tongue, so I visit this store quite frequently. I prefer regular Set over Miso. From what I recall there is only a limited orders of Miso Gyutan available daily and they don’t put the Miso Gyutan on the charcoal grill! The wait can be long; they are usually the last eatery to close at the food court.
Parking: Parking depends on the time of the day, busy during lunch and weekends. Weeknights okay after 7.
