Went for the 1st time tonight as a group of 4. The food was delicious. We got a pitcher of Sapporo at a great price. I got the chicken thighs a meal combo w white rice, soup, and a sea weed side that was yummy. We also had some sushi rolls that were very good along with some Toro that melted in your mouth. Our friend had the yellow tail cheek and loved it. The staff was very attentive. The owner overheard us talking about a birthday in our group and he brought out a delicious piece of cheesecake that he made himself. It was a wonderful experience in a nice locally owned restaurant. Very affordable as well. Go check it out.

Authentic Japanese Restaurant owned and operated by Japanese. Food is cooked by Japanese Chefs. Plenty of parking available for lunch and dinner open seven days a week. Open for lunch Monday thru Friday up to 2:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday open for lunch up to 2:30 pm. Everything is delicious and most of all very clean. Very friendly and excellent service. You will not regret dining at Kappo-Sui the best Authentic Restaurant in Southern California. The way to tell whether the Japanese restaurant is good or not is by the taste of their “Miso Soup”. Believe me I am a Japanese born and raised in Japan. My favorite place to dine.

This is my fifth time being here. The food is amazing! I love the Tuna Bowl, sashimi, and sushi here. The fish they use are very fresh. My bf loves their tempura. Also, their homemade dessert is so delicious!

It can’t get any better. If you want an authentic great quality what is the Japanese food the place to come?
The food was also good that I will definitely be back to try more. The service was amazing. Owner was very welcoming and a chef is very talented.
The place is a small little spot in a shopping Center off of Santa Ana Ave and Bristol.
Don’t skip on the dessert it is to die for and all homemade in house.
Super impressed. Really good izakaya with home style cooking. The chawanmushi was SO good!!

I found out about this restaurant from a colleague and have been here twice in two weeks. This is the best Japanese food in the OC. We had ootoro, chicken wings, chicken thigh, fried konjac, agedashi tofu, and cream crab croquettes. The ootoro sashimi was melt-in-your- mouth-superb. Both chicken dishes were tender and juicy. The konjac was just the right amount of spicy and flavorful. We enjoyed the tofu and croquettes, both of which were well made and delicious. We also had dessert (mango panacotta and cheesecake) which is made in house by the pastry chef (also the owner). Service was warm and efficient without being overbearing. Plenty of free parking.

Absolutely incredible Japanese food — imo the best in Orange County. Super high quality ingredients clearly sourced really well. Impressed that you can get this outside of Japan.

I visited this restaurant while on a business trip to LA. My meal was outstanding! The staff were so friendly and it was a great experience to sit at the bar and watch the team work in the kitchen. I highly recommend the crab croquettes. This will be my go-to Japanese restaurant anytime I am in OC.

I’d been wanting to try this spot for so long, and it was worth the wait! The Agedashi Tofu and Grilled Pacific Saury were perfect with cold sake, and the sushi was so fresh. The Seared Engawa was a standout — honestly one of the best I’ve had outside of Japan. Finished with the matcha pudding, which was the perfect ending. Staff were so kind and welcoming, and even dining alone I felt completely comfortable. Very authentic Japanese food — I’ll definitely be back!
