I have been coming here since 2005, and this is my Go-to restaurant when I crave for an authentic Japanese food.
I always order the same things: Steamed Black Cod With Granted Mountain Potato, Fried Mochi With Grated Radish and Matsutake Soup (seasonal).
I will keep coming as long as they have those on the menu! Thank you for putting a great effort to serve delicious Japanese food.

Seemed like a family style restaurant, very friendly service, reasonable selections. Ordered various dishes, really enjoyed ankimo, eggplant appetizers. The salmon skin salad was average. The simmered fish was too sweet. Fried tempura was, unfortunately, not so.

This is an authentic local neighborhood restaurant that one can find in Japan. It offers many of the local flavors such as stewed Kiki fish, mountain yam salad, clam soup, Japanese croquettes, etc. This is definitely a gem of a place in South OC that serves family style dishes of old Japanese cuisine.

All the dishes were very tasty. I was very surprise to find a place that reminds me of izakaya in Japan. Service was excellent.

Nice little authentic Japanese restaurant. Interior is a bit dated, but the food is good. They serve their sushi with Akazu red vinegar.
This is my first time visiting this place. As soon as I came in, I felt like I was in Japan. I ordered Omakase and the menu was fantastic. The ingredients were fresh and the nigiri melted in the mouth. The staff was very friendly and each menu item was delicious Had a worthwhile dinner experience!! ?

Tempura, Soba, curry and sushi were great. They're in the process of updating after a change of ownership and it's a little better everytime. Clientele are 80% Japanese, so you know the food is authentic and delicious!

Oh my goodness, this place is an absolute gem. My friends and I visited on a Tuesday evening and were blown away by the experience. The authenticity of the food transported us back to Japan.I highly recommend trying their nigiri; the fish is incredibly fresh, flavorful and just rich in flavor. Some notable selections include the salmon, bluefin, toro, ikura, yellowtail, tuna, and albacore. We also shared a bunch of appetizers and everything had incredible flavor. We ended up enjoying more rounds than planned, as everything was just too delicious that we couldn't resist having a taste of everything.The service was exceptional; staff was attentive and the owner was so kind and friendly. He really elevated our experience and added to the charm. Despite living an hour away, we're already planning another trip just to dine here again. Prices are reasonable, food is exceptional and staff is lovely. I don't normally write reviews but this place deserves 10 stars.
