I used to be a fan of Honda-Ya Box in C.M. Informal, relatively cheap and tasty. They closed. I stumbled on this place and was pleasantly blown away. More of a take-out place (tiny with a couple tables). Sizeable selection, ample portions, lots of add-ons, very fresh tasting. I had Katsu and it was great. I came back with wife and daughter another time and we had the Salmon, Bulgogi and lots of extras. Ate it in the park which is our custom. EXCELLENT! I don't think you will regret trying this if you like Japanese type eats. The counter guy is great, too. Feels like a family operation.

Had frequently driven past this spot and decided to walk in and check it out.
Love the options and combos available. The service is always appreciated: super friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
The food IS AMAZING and consistently so! I frequent the spicy chicken teriyaki with brown rice. The portion is perfect for lunch - enough to fill me and not leave me still feeling hungry. Presentation of the food is great, too. It's been about two to three months now, and I go at least two times a week. I just started trying the curry... DELICIOUS! I was provided the following tip for ordering this as there are two methods: order the Japanese curry bowl then added grilled chicken OR order the chicken katsu plate and add the Japanese curry. I tried both! Although I prefer the katsu more, the grilled chicken option is perfect for a small portion and as an on-the-go meal (still plenty of food!). I have tried the katsu burger, but the flavor of the spicy chicken teriyaki plate just takes the cake for me. No regerts.
The location itself is pretty good. A bit tucked away and can be kind of missed. There is plenty of inside seating. No outdoor seating available. The place is kept very clean and is pretty recent. A bit cozy if you want to sit a bit and do some work.
I got my friend hooked on this place, and we've come back 7 times in the last 2.5 weeks.
Can't say enough about this spot. Try it out!
Online ordering is available and fantastic for when you need to drop in, but they also accommodate ordering ahead and opting to eat in if you would appreciate that. Again, super helpful and friendly staff!

I had a great experience. I stopped in for lunch yesterday, the guy running the register was extremely friendly and welcoming to all the guests who came in which is always nice to see. But nobody goes to a restaurant just for a friendly greeting right?
Well the food was also very well made, delicious, generous portions and at $12.95 for the chicken Katsu down right affordable too!
This is a restaurant that I'll definitely be going back to :)

Having lived in Japan for a few years, Japanese food has become a staple food. It is hard to find good Japanese food here in the states. KatsuYaki is the best Japanese restaurant I have found in CA. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Really great local spot to grab some chicken Katsu or teriyaki chicken. Always fresh, delicious and full of flavor. The owner is a gem and super friendly and kind. I wish her all the success in the world. The French fries are also stellar, the sushi is great, the gyoza, everything is just excellent. A+

The Beef Katsu Burger and the Chicken Kast Burger didn't disappoint. The fries were golden, the tempura perfect. Prices super reasonable. Definitely coming back.

DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE. I came here after reading the good reviews and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!!! I came to the window to order and the sweetest guy Axel helped me out. He recommended the katsu burger and was so kind to make my order fresh with a lettuce wrap, as requested. The chicken was hearty, the fries were crispy, and the spicy mayo was to die for. If you like fresh, affordable food, good music, and excellent service in a clean setting, please stop by. I will definitely come back to try their other menu items!!! :)
