We came to the Lab for a relaxing weekend outing and sampled pizza at Kuro.
Thomas is delicious! It is a red sauce pizza that comes with cheese and Italian sausage. We also ordered Nico which is a white sauce pizza with honey.
I enjoyed both pizza - the creativity, flavor, and texture are all on point.
Kuro offers proximity delivery to the Bootlegers brewery. We checked out the menu and placed our order while sampling delicious beer. Freshly made pizzas were delivered to us within 15 minutes.
Two pizza plus taxes and tips came be around $42. A bit pricy but the food and service are excellent!
We will return :)
Parking: The lab has its own lot but it can be challenging to find a spot during weekends.

It was not bad... but it was not good either. We ordered the Nico and the Margherita. The flavors were not balanced, and the dough by itself tasted liked flatbread. Limited options. Vegetarian options available, no vegan ones.

Amazing!! I loved the sauce…delicious and garlicky. Plus the crust was not soggy like some wood-fried pizza. Soo good went back for a second time the next day! There really is no place to dine in and the beverage choices are limited but 10/10 for taste!! Have to try!!

I really like their pizza and their vibe. Just pizza, one per person. My only quibble is that the crust has perhaps a bit more salt than I would prefer. But other than that the crust is great…very thin but still holds up.
I’ve has the plain red, and the italian sausage. I intend to work my way through all the pizzas.
Great pizzas, good service, nice place!

This place serves a mean pizza! The staff was very friendly and helped us choose our pizza. We got sausage and jalapeno on half since my wife doesn't do spicy food. It was very good artisan pizza so don't expect a super overloaded with cheap cheese pizza as they do put a decent amount but higher quality than your local chain place. The crust had a nice crisp to it and didnt sag when you picked up your slice. We will definitely be back for more when we are in the area!

Went here with two friends. Got the Cindy (white pizza) and two margaritas. It was fantastic. Yes they crust is a little larger but that is because it was formed by hand. Not a machine. I like how original or home made the pizza felt. I appreciated the wet mozzarella not being too wet. We all finished off our pizza and my friend likes the good amount of garlic on his Cindy (white pizza). Coming back for sure. Also the chef was super kind and brought our pizzas out to us, since it’s open seating at the lab.
Vegetarian options: Most pizzas didn’t include meat at all.
Kid-friendliness: Easy to order and sit anywhere at the Lab.
Wheelchair accessibility: No steps, just enter through the doors.

I came here for the first time . Artisanal pizza... really ?I took a Nico and CIndy pizza. They have no taste at all.I am an italian tourist in Costa mesa.Nothing to do with a Pizza at all..It is not à pizza dough at all but à doigt make for break.Plus the pizza was empty, not even cheese. You don't even taste the cheese. If you love bread you will love the dough but this is not à pizza at all.

The pizza was disappointing. It was made far too thin and the cheese and sausage toppings actually all slid off when I tried to eat. The red sauce tasted like jar sauce and the crust was a little burnt tasting and had a strange bitter aftertaste. It was also pricey for the amount of food.

I'm glad I stumbled across this place at The Lab. Freshly made pizza that's the perfect personal size. The staff is very friendly & my pizza was done in 15 minutes and brought to me outside as there's no indoor dining.
I tried the Red II Re pizza and it was delicious. I was really glad there was an option with no mozzarella.
I was craving pizza and this really hit the spot!
I look forward to returning.

The guy was super nice so it pains me to give such a low rating, but the pizza was awful, even for California. Don't go here if you're from the tri-state area.Koji in the dough was an intriguing - if culturally-appropriating - idea for a white dude (stolen from Shota Nakajima), but it just made the pizza taste bitter like rye bread. And the whole pie was burnt.Something "being Cindy" is actually an in-joke with my friends, meaning something is familiar, right, and as it should be. But despite having a pizza called Cindy, this definitely wasn't Cindy.
