I came here for the first time . Artisanal pizza... really ?I took a Nico and CIndy pizza. They have no taste at all.I am an italian tourist in Costa mesa.Nothing to do with a Pizza at all..It is not à pizza dough at all but à doigt make for break.Plus the pizza was empty, not even cheese. You don't even taste the cheese. If you love bread you will love the dough but this is not à pizza at all.

The guy was super nice so it pains me to give such a low rating, but the pizza was awful, even for California. Don't go here if you're from the tri-state area.Koji in the dough was an intriguing - if culturally-appropriating - idea for a white dude (stolen from Shota Nakajima), but it just made the pizza taste bitter like rye bread. And the whole pie was burnt.Something "being Cindy" is actually an in-joke with my friends, meaning something is familiar, right, and as it should be. But despite having a pizza called Cindy, this definitely wasn't Cindy.

Such a great hole in the wall pizza place. The owners were so kind and the pizzas were even better! We ordered the Thomas and the Nico. Thomas tasted like an upscale deconstructed pasta and the Nico was so decadent with all the herb flavors blending nicely. Saw one comment that the pizzas are oily and lack of cheese, but that’s clearly intentional given the price point and high end ingredients. The olive oil they sprinkle on the pizza is perfect for dipping your flaky crust.

Great customer service!! The owners are very friendly. The pizza is fantastic. Very reasonable prices for artisanal pizza.

Great experience all around here! We love the Lab concept and have been wanting to try Kuro for a while. Finally got the chance today. It was about a 25 minute wait for a Nacho, and they got pretty busy in that time. When it came out, the chef was worried about a hole in the pizza and offered to make it right however he could. He ended up bringing us some cream puffs and other pastry desserts that were simply sublime. The pizza still tastes wonderful as well! We really appreciate the gesture and loved our visit as a whole. Can't wait to return and try all the other combos over time.

Five stars is not enough. It is 5:45 AM and my mouth is watering just remembering that incredible crust, those perfect ingredients. This is not just a pizza, it is a trip to a faraway land. That land, my friends, is called Pizza Heaven. Service is also excellent.

I had high hopes for this pizza, I love artisanal pizza! But I don't know if this is a different type of pizza I've never tried or heard of but it was paper thin in the middle and very soggy/oily.The cheese wasn't spread around and just chunky and in the middle. The crust surprisingly was good, it seemed to be whole wheat.Maybe we just got a bad pizza, that's why I didn't do 1 star.

PRO-TIP: Check out their Instagram. Their Pizza master makes some pretty funny content from time to time and it's pretty heartwarming to watch! It's located at the Lab anti-mall and there's, of course, open seating outdoors or under a roof next to the other shops, as it's an anti-mall. Simple menu with some delicious 'za. Your pizza is brought to you and you can request dishes. Water is self serve. I love the skater? Punk rock? Metal? theming of the restaurant. The logo and artwork are pretty sick and everything being all black looks so clean and aesthetically pleasing. Apparently according to the anti-mall's website, they do sell out for the day, so keep that in mind, especially if events are held at the anti-mall or if it just happens to be a very busy day. All of the pizzas are 12 inches and made with their delicious homemade dough. I'm usually not the biggest fan of crust unless it's stuffed or heavily seasoned, but that's not needed here. The dough is organic, made from multigrain wheat, and comes with a complex mix of sweet and umami flavor. A lot of time and effort goes into preparing all of the ingredients for their pizzas. We got the: 1) Pizza Il Re:-This is a red pizza. Simple but delicious. -Made with their handmade tomato sauce with clove garlic, garlic confit, dry oregano, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. -There's a nice very subtle spicy kick from this. Think peppery kick that is very refreshing with each bite. -It looks super simple, but the most delicious simple pizza that I've ever had.2) Nico Pizza: -I saw garlic confit as one of the ingredients for this pizza and I knew I had to try it. -It's a white pizza made with gorgonzola cheese, mozzarella, scamorza, fontina, Parmigiano-Reggiano, honey, rosemary, clove garlic, and of course the garlic confit. -It's a messy to eat, but oh so delicious. This was my favorite of the 2 as a cheese lover. Nicely cheesy with a rich, strong garlic flavor (if you love garlic it's a must). -The inclusion of honey is super unique to me as it's the first time I've ever had that drizzled on a pizza. The sweetness of the honey, tanginess of the Gorgonzola, richness of the mozzarella, and all of the herbs and spices came together like a beautifully composed orchestra in the form of pizza. A must try and would love to come back in the future.

I ordered the nacho pizza and loved how delicious it was and really appreciated the contrasting flavors throughout the whole pizza. The sweetness from the honey, the spiciness from the jalapeño, the umami and savoriness from the pork sausage and the acidity from the tomato. It was perfection.I really loved how they decorated the shop as well!! It is my kind of aesthetic ~

Pizza was amazing! Loved the flavors of the nacho pizza , had a sweet heat and it complimented the Italian sausage really well. The staff was also really nice and super accommodating!!
