Let's start with the reception. There isn’t hardly any. The music is annoying and obnoxious and so loud people try to talk over it. I used to come here long ago and the staff was friendly and nice. They are rude now and the food is mediocre at best. The cashier ignored ringing me up and kept walking past me until someone else rang me up.

Marugame is amazing! We love the freshly made udon noodles at a great price! Every location of the chain has been consistently high quality. You can choose tempura as a side at the end, and it is freshly made and there is a good variety! Check out the seasonal special bowl.

I love Udon, but I've apparently never even had it before cause this was amazing... Great price, huge portion, amazing add on toppings. We got the L BK Udon and it was nearly too much. I was absolutely blown away with this experience. I highly recommend! The only complaint I could offer is the spacing between the tables is too tight I literally had to put my backside into someone's face to get into the booth and to get back out as well. Would still recommend just if your not a twig sit on the outside...
We used to live in Japan and this is the most authentic experience we’ve had. The food was great and everyone here was so kind. Would recommend

Love the veggie options at Marugame! We used to not be able to eat here, so I’m glad about the newer additions. The vegan spicy udon is great and the south coast location is always perfect for when you’re hungry from shopping.

So good!! One of the affordable places in South Coast Plaza. Food is really good but lines can get really long around lunch time. Also, not a ton of seating, so that can be a problem. May need to wait for a table, which can also take a while.
